Is a dispenser board the same as HV Control Board? Is it something that is difficult to get?

  • jjohns08 Aug 18, 2008

Have similar problem. (mine is a 795.77573600), but ice flap will not open and lights and beeping at different intervals on each setting (water, cube, crushed).

For the two days waiting until a repair man comes to "fix" this issue here is something that may help others with this type of issue. I was able to stop the flashing lights and beeping by setting the LOCK function on the control panel. Press and Hold left button until the lock symbol comes on. No guarantee that this will work for you.

Known common problem. If you call Maytag they will probably send you the parts for free. Will be new main and dispenser boards.

The filter light came on and tghe fidge started beeping. we replaced the filter but the fidge continues to beep. This a side by side Samsung --6 months old.

FILTER RESET
When the filter is replaced, reset the indicator by pressing the “POWER FREEZE” and
“ICE TYPE” button for 3 second at the same time.
If this doesn't work I would call 1800Samsung and have them send a technician to your home to help. The refrigerator does come with a one year parts and labor warranty. Hopefully this helps.

Our GE Profile Arctica will not make ice cubes.

You have 2 problems .
1 . the water valve is not letting enough water in . Pt # WR57X10032 . This is located on the back of the refrig , where the wall water line connects to , on the refrig .
2 . The dispensor flap door , is not closing completely , to seal off the warm outside air , thereby , causing frost on the inside dispensor area , and , on the bottom of the ice dispensor bucket . The usual cause , is the door flap solenoid , pt # WR62X10055 . The plunger , which comes with the solenoid , usually rusts , causing the flap not to close completely .

Ice flap door won't close - Freezer and ice maker frost up

Every time you use the ice dispensor , when the flap opens , cold air will fall inside the enclosed dispensor cover . This cold air , mixed with the warm outside air , produces moisture inside the cover . After so long , this moisture starts turning to rust , causing the solenoid and plunger to rust . G E has no "fix" for this problem yet . My suggestion , would be to drill holes in the bottom of the dispensor enclosure (white plastic enclosure , held on by 4 screws ) at certain points , so that the cold air will fall thru the cover , instead of staying in the enclosure . This is something I have to try on customers refrigerators for a while , before I send this Idea to G E . To answer your question , yes , I is normal to replace every couple of years ,.....for now anyway .

Frost builds up in dispenser area .hard to open because of frost buildup.

The ice dispensor flap is not closing completely , causing the frost in the inside shoot and on the bottom of the dispensor . Sometimes caused by a broken ice guide ( clear piece attached to the arm that activates the dispensor on the door ) it hits against the flap , not letting it close . Model number would have helped more .

Ice maker door does not close all the way and the ice maker switch that releases the ice when press does not work all the time

Sounds like your saying that the ice dispensor flap is not closing completely which will cause frost on the inside shoot and on the ice bucket . Could be because of a broken guide ( clear plastic piece attached to the ice dispensor arm ) . Need brand and model number to help .

Ice dispensor flap is little warped.

the number for ge parts service is 1-877-959-8688. make sure you have the model # and serial number. if you don't have a manuel or if you have one that covers more than one model in it than you have to look for a little black most likely silver plate wich will have that info on it. if it's not on the inside or front of fridge anywhere you will have to pull it out from the wall because it will be on the back of it. hope i helped you.

Ice maker works, fills door but doesn't come out

You have a bad dispensor flap solenoid . Frost due to flap not closing completely and ice will catch in the shoot .

Flap on ice dispensor does not close.

The flap is probably gummed up with sugar from filling glasses with sugary drinks in them. When the ice drops into the glass it splashes the drink into the chute. It needs cleaning.

Just flushing plain water over, under, around and through it will probably free it up (yeah, I kow it's going to be messy).

Ice dispensor only dispensing crushed ice - not cubed

Make sure that your ice tray is properly instaled. There is a rod that must go into a hole. When you select ice cubes rather than crushed ice a solenoid raises which moves that rod. It then opens a flap so the cubes can bypass the crusher. Either your rod is not in the hole correctly or the solenoid has gone bad. The rod that I am speaking of runs along the underside of the ice tray. It has a spring on the rear end that holds the bypass flpa closed.
