I am trying to communicate

I am trying to communicate with a mitsubishi A1s type plc using Melsec Medoc version 2.30 via a SC-09 interface lead.The software runs OK on the laptop but says it can't find the PLC when I try to upload a program from the PLC to the laptop.Tried two different laptops with two different operating systems(windows xp and windows 2000).I've selected the correct plc type in the setup menu (A1S)but but I'm not having any luck at all.Any help would be much appreciated.
