When my projector started doing that, it finally blew altogether. After I opened it, I found it was a blown capacitor on the mainboard. I was able to fix it once but used the wrong capacitor. If you have any soldering skills, you can open the projector and determine if it is a blown capacitor. If it is, the little red square capacitor is a 0.1mF +/- 10% tolerance, 150V capacitor. Hope that helps.

I have a Dell MP2300 with a bad power supply. Everything else is in
excellent working condition. the bulb is less than a year old and has
less than 500 hours on it. My asking prices are:
1. WITHOUT BULB: $50 shipping
2. WITH BULB: $150 plus shipping .
If you are interested, please contact me. I will also consider offers.
Use the warranty! since you anly had it for 8 weeks, and the waaranty last for one year, go back with it and get it repaired or get a new bulb. A buld last at least 2500 hours, in eco mode it last for over 3000 hours.
My understanding when we purchased our IN72 2 years ago is that there wasn't any additional benefit for Cable box using HDMI since the IN72 does not transmit audio so using component cables for cable was optimized enough. We have our DVD player connected via the HDMI only. Possibly the transmission from cable box through an HDMI is not compatible audio is confusing it? hard to say. Cable HD channels look awesome thru the compenent cables, the max for IN72 is 480i anyway.
We've got 35 ft cables for all 3 hdmi, compenent, and that vcr one too and it's worked great.
When i turn the projector on it only comes on four about a minute until the temp lights go amber and it turns off, the fan is working but the air coming out is a little warm. what if anything is making my projector overheat, or is it not heating at all?
This model projector is very sensitive to internal heat. I f by some reason the projector was abruptly powered down without the use of its normal procedure, in other words, unpluging cord from wall while on or power outage in premises, then the heat remains trapped and the sensors overheat and subsequently shuts down the unit. Now, although, once the sensors cool down it should reinstate operation some sensors become permanently damaged due to the extreme heat. In this case without having more facts, i believe it is the cause. I recommend a free check up to your nearest shop, most shops will offer free check ups.
all these things leads to 1 conclusion:
the device is packed with tons of dust
it has a safty powerdown on heatup
