Question about InFocus IN72 Multimedia Projector
It's less than 2 years old with 855 hours.
Heats up after about 8 minutes. Last time it had a littel smoke so I quickly turned it off. What coud be wrong and who can fix it at a reaonable cost?
The capacitor that is blown wouldnot be a 150V but a 450V. Dannol, I think you should really double check that as you most probably could be wrong or it most probably is a typo error.
The correct capacitor is a 104K450 NIS T83. 100nf (0.1uf), 10% tolerance and 450V rad polyester type.

When my projector started doing that, it finally blew altogether. After I opened it, I found it was a blown capacitor on the mainboard. I was able to fix it once but used the wrong capacitor. If you have any soldering skills, you can open the projector and determine if it is a blown capacitor. If it is, the little red square capacitor is a 0.1mF +/- 10% tolerance, 150V capacitor. Hope that helps.
