Toshiba Sat A135-S2286 backside removal...

Dearest Computer Experts,

For Heaven sakes, All I want to do is get the back off of my laptop so I can resolder the power connection recept. it is loose and not making good contact anymore. I have removed all the screws on the back and have gently tried to remove the back, just the back to get to the power connection plug to repair it. Can you tell me what I am not doing to release the back cover So I have clear access to the power plug? Thank you for any assistance you can give me. Otherwise my laptop is working fine. Don't want to break it. just fix it and back to work. Tom Jr.

The bottom cover doesn't come off. Think of it as the base, and everything else goes into the base. You will need to remove the motherboard in order to resoldier the jack. Here's a link to breakdown instructions for the A135. NOTE- there are 4 pages, I didn't catch that the first time I saw this instruction site.

How to restore a toshiba satellite a135-s2286 notebook without cd?

the f8 function is only to try and remedy boot problems. the recovery option you're getting is to restore if you have already made recovery discs.
if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive you should be able to access it when you boot up. before starting your laptop press and hold 0(zero) key and power on the laptop. once it starts you should get a screen with 3 options then choose option 1 to get back to factory restore.

My usb ports stopped recognizing my plug in's. They work for power but my wireless mouse and iPhone when plugged in won't work now.

I have a similar problem with my A135-S2286. I noted that the mouse pad area got hot, but I found it was the Wifi card. After getting hot, the computer stops recognizing USB devices and finally the computer gets stuck.

Try turning off your Wifi and please let me know if it works.

Left side of keyboard not working on toshiba a135 s2286?

It could be that the keyboard has come slightly unplugged within the laptop or that the keyboard itself is faulty. I would suggest checking the ribbon cable connecting it to the motherboard followed by replacing it if necessary.
