Question about Hampton Bay Air Conditioners

1 Answer

We recently bought a hampton bay "mediterranean" 52" celing fan with remote. I have noticed that the light on the fan will sometimes come on by itself, what is wrong? I followed the installation instructions perfectly, is it a faulty fan?

I think this is not an air conditioner. Try posting this under "fans".

I have a hampton bay remote that just stopped working. I have installed new batteries, have checked the code with another remote so I know the problem isn't the fan. The light on the remote does not...

If the light on the remote is not lighting when you push a button, check the batteries to make sure they are in the proper position. If one is turned the wrong way, the hand held will not work. You may also want to check the replacement batteries to make sure they are fully charged. If all this fails to solve the problem, you will need replace the hand held remote. Since Hampton Bay Fans are a house brand for Home Depot, they stock and sell replacement hand held remote controls.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Hi, Betty. Hampton Bay Ceiling fans are a house brand for Home Depot. They do sell replacement hand-held remotes, that can be programmed to match your fan. But, before you rush off to buy a new one, change the batteries in the remote first. There's a batteries in the handl held remote and some in the receiver, inside the fans cowling. Low batteries can cause what is happening with your fan.

Hope this helped you.

2 Hampton Bay fans-model #AC552(NN). When using the remote there's a click but motors do not go on, but lights do go on.

Beleive it or not, the batteries (2 of them) may be weak. Change all the batteries in the hand held remote and the one in the receiver inside the cowling of the fan. It takes less power to turn the lights on, than it takes to turn the fan motor on.

Hope this helpd you. Please let me know.

My Hampton Bay remote control just stopped working. Replaced 9v battery and the battery is "heating up" and the remote control still does not work.

You have one more battery to replace. It's the Receiver battery behind the fan's cowling. It too, is a 9 volt battery. That should solve the problem. But, keep an eye on the hand-held heating up. Make sure the battery was installed properly.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

We just bought a house with a beautifiul Hampton Bay ceiling fan, however the remote is missing. Consequently, we are unable to use the fan. Is there any way to determine if the fan is operational?

Try Home Depot. They sell Hampton Bay fans. They should have replacement remotes.
Here is one that Amazon sells. If you order oline, check to see if your model number is
what the remote will control. Also return policy of the seller if it doesnt work. May be easier
to go to Home Depot with a picture of the fan, or model number if you can locate it. Remember
that you will still have to figure out what settings to set the switches to that control the channel
the remote works on. It's do-able.

Hampton bay fan remote is not working. Changes batteries, checked plug Neither light nor fan works

It may not be the controller but the circuit board on the appliance. Check for any onboard fuses and go from there. This information should be in your users manual.
