82-thermal lockout

looks like your compressor has overheated ; let it around 4 hours to cool down and then turn it on and check if outdoor unit's fan is running. If not you need to check fan motor and circuitry if it's ok then you have to check if filters are clean and if the coolant is present :) and in proper levels (secont one needs special equipment)

Central air unit out side will run non stop in hi temp cond and not cool very well, coils have been cleaned along with condenser and evap. it will run and turn off in early morning hours, freion is wher it...

Here is what you need to do to make sure your system is charged correctly go to the furnace take the temperature of to supply temp and take the return temperature at the furnace. You should have 18-20 degrees temperature difference if your return temp. is 77 degrees you should have 57 to 59 degrees. If you dont have these temps your system either wasnt cleaned properly or not charged correctly. If this helps please rate me and do a testimonial.

The outside unit will work only briefly and bring the temp. down about 1 degree in 2 hours of running. Then the outside unit turns off for at least 2 to 3 hours.

Does the outside unit completley shutoff or does the
condensor fan keep on operating? If this is the case
the compressor could be overheating and shutting down. Try washing the condensor from inside out.

If you can read electrical diagram on the back of the
condensor electrical panel check to see if it has a
high pressure switch, if this is the case it probably
is cycling off this switch. Wash the Condensor and make sure the fan is operating.

If the big insulated line does not feel cool after 15 min. of operation you could be low on freon.

Carrier model #58rav070-08 flashing error code #31

I would check the back of the unit to see if any debris has accumulated then check for the filter and make sure it is clean. Look at the front of the a/c where the filter sits and see if the coil behind the filter is dirty. If so the unit needes to be cleaned. This can be done by purchasing a can of coil cleaner at the hardware store and follow the directions to clean the coil. What the system is saying is there is a blockage somewhere causing this code. Not being serviced in 4 years would be the possible cause because of the amount of debris in the air over that 4 year period. Good luck on the repair hope this helped you.

Is the Air Conditioner our problem?

If the intake vents are occluded in anyway or debris surrounds the coils this will cause the internal temp to rise to critical and trip the power. Unless you are skilled and agile and have a knowledge of how to open the unit I would be saying get a professional to look at it in case it goes further than thye basic problem as a result of overheating several times.

The last thinhg you need is no A/C in hot periods and a few hours shopping whilst it is being looked at by an A/C tech is well worth the visit before it costs more by not diagnosing another problem early

the e2 error on your thermostat is a problem with the return temp sensor on your system, the only thing you can really do is call a company and replace it, you can't bypass it or remove it cause the system wont run properly

It may be the small vent fan motor on the inside if the control panel. When the noise begins remove the panel and you may be able to catch it in the act.
