You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, thesupport download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers for your Windows operatingsystem. Click on this link to download the drivers: - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen

The wireless network adapter could not be accessed. this application may have dimnished finctionalty as a result. can you help me with this? inspiron 1525

There is a reason the wireless network adapter can't be accessed. It could be that you've turned off your wireless network. The driver for the adapter could be corrupt.
Check to see if it's turned on. If you access your network adapters, you should see if it is turned on or not.
If this doesn't help, from the device manager, remove the network adapter. Restart the computer and it will find the adapter and reinstall it. I think this will solve the problem.

I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop. I recently reformatted it. Now It does not recognize wireless connections. I cant connect to the net Can anyone help?

When you reinstalled Windows, Windows probably did not include a driver for your wireless adapter. A driver tells Windows how to interface with a certain device, such as a wireless adapter. You can easily download the driver online and install it. Once installed, restart the computer and you should again have the ability to connect to wireless networks.
I've gone to the Dell website for you and found the correct driver. Please visit this link: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WLH&catid=5&dateid=-1&impid=-1&osl=EN&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=INS_PNT_PM_1525&hidos=WLH&hidlang=en&TabIndex=&scanSupported=False&scanConsent=False
On that website, I would first try downloading the first driver on the list. If that doesn't enable your wireless after a reboot, try the other ones. After the correct driver is installed, your wireless will be working again.

Reinstall the driver for it. You should be able to get it from dell. If it still doesn't work there may be a hardware problem.

Windows WiFi Fix,
Windows Zero Wireless Configuration is one of the best programs to run a WiFi in Windows XP or Vista. Most of the other software packages that come with the different adapters have been poor at best in keeping a connection through Windows. Here is the best guide to get you back up and connected.
Windows XP:
Click Start
Right click on My Computer
When a window pops up click on properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Windows Vista:

Click Start Logo
Right Click Computer
Click Device Manager
Windows will ask you about opening Device Manager Click Continue
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.
