Question about Panasonic PT-61LCX65 61" Rear Projection HDTV
I have a 61" Panasonic TV. I keep getting the message "air filter cleaning needed" and the TV shuts off. I have had a repair man look at the TV and he can not figure out the problem. I saw in one of your help articles where you said that Lamp sensor may be defective. Can you tell me where the lamp sensor is and if you have any other suggestions to get this message off my TV.
Call the factory for an authorized servicer near you, your TV guy doesn't understand Panasonic...
If the lamp thermal sensor is active, the fans just keep running because it thinks the thing is hot (to save an expensive part from exploding). It does not give any error message.
Fan 1 is used for air filter detection. (It's essentially the same run-sensor type fan used in their stereos.) Fan 1 plug P2902 at the right side of the light engine board may not be making good contact or the fan is not running. The micro must get the proper feedback signal from that fan to keep it happy.
