I need help setting the alarm on my radio controlled digital clock.

1- Turn over your Seth Thomas digital clock. Use your finger to remove the cover to the unit's battery compartment. Insert two AA-size alkaline batteries into the battery compartment and replace the cover. Certain Seth Thomas digital clock units will also have an optional alternate power source in the form of a standard AC power cable that plugs into a wall outlet in your home.

  • 2 Place your Seth Thomas solar-powered digital clock in front of a light source, such as on a window sill or beneath a lamp. The black strip on the top of the unit is the solar sensor, so as long as light is shining down on that strip, your clock will be powered on and ready to use. The sensor stores energy throughout the day so that it can work at night with no direct light contact on the sensor.

  • 3 Press the time zone button that indicates your current time zone. These buttons are located on the back of the unit. For example, if you are in the eastern time zone select the "EST" button. Turn the unit back over. It will now be displaying the correct time on its digital screen.

  • 4 Use the "Alarm" switch (if applicable) to enable and disable the clock's alarm. Press the "Alarm" button, followed by the "Hour" and "Minute" buttons, to set the appropriate alarm time based on your needs. Use the "Alarm HI LO" switch to set the volume for the alarm.

  • 5 Press the "Weather" button to tune your Seth Thomas digital clock to its built-in local weather radio station (if applicable). Certain Seth Thomas clocks have this radio weather functionality built in, while others don't. If yours does, the aforementioned "Weather" button will be located on the front of the unit.

Im installing a JVC KD - A315 radio in a 2003 alero, when i took out old radio all the wires were cut and turned into speaker wire running all over the place the factory amp is in the back i went ahead...

There may be extra wires you don't need. The basic set of wires on the radio is 4 pairs of colored wires--one black-striped and one plain for each speaker. Yellow is usually accessory power, red is hot, and black is ground. Some additional wires may be one for a power antenna, one for an external amplifyer, and one for facelight (in case it will run on dimmer)
The car should have the following corresponding wires:
    Radio 12v--- orange
    Radio Ground--- black
    Radio Ignition--- yellow
    Radio Illumination--- brown
    Dimmer--- gray
Power Antenna--- pink (if you have one)
LF Speaker +/- tan - grey
RF Speaker +/- lt green - dk green
LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow
RR Speaker +/- dk. blue- lt. blue

The car or radio could have additional connectors, such as for a subwoofer, CD changer, etc.

How do you remove radio from dash this is the second time we have had a cd get stuck in radio

if its the original fitment .go to halfords or similar and purchase a pair of bent radio hooks they slot into the 4 holes {2 on either side of the unit } push them in until you hear a click than simultaneous key pull and the unit will come out from the dash .you will have to then strip down the unit to remove the CD its unusual for this to happen as the factory fitment is a very high quality unit .and you will find removing a CD from it hard work as you will require power to eject it {however if the car still have any warranty ..take it back and thy will replace you CD tuner

Car front two speakers arent working. rear two are.

have the front speakers ever worked?

if not have they been connected properly?

    if yes then
look under ballance and check theat rear and front ballance is in the middle
if it is then for temporarily replace the front speaker with any old speaker
if that works then you need new front speakers
if no then the radio is broken

but what you could do is rewire the back speakers so they also play though the front ones too
this can be done from behind the radio

find the rear right positive and negative wires
strip the insulation but dont cut the copper wire
cut the front right speaker and attach that to the rear speaker wire
do this for both positive and negative

    rear right
.I.I..........< strip cable but do not cut metal
    .I.I=_______________ <<<front right positive

    Wiring color code for xr-c5100

I am about to sell one on eBay - here are the connections from the installation paperwork and connector that I have:

    Top row, left to right:
    White - Front Left (+)
    Green - Rear Left (+)
    Purple - Rear Right (+)
    Gray - Front Right (+)
    Blue/White strip - AMP REMOTE (Max 0.3A)
Blue - ANT REM (Power Antennta Remote) (12V, Max 0.1A)
    Red - Power (Accessory)
    Black - Ground

    Bottom Row, left ot right
    White/Black - Front Left (-)
    Green - Rear Left (-)
    Purple - Rear Right (-)
    Gray - Front Right (-)
    Yellow - Power (Battery)

One of the BLANKs is for the "Light Blue - ATT (attenuation for car phone)", but it is unclear which one. This wire is not on my connection block...

The circular BUS line to the right of the terminal block is apparently for linking to a CD/MD unit (cable supplied with unit)

The Blue 3.5mm socket is for the RM-X45 Rotary Commander (which attaches to the indicator lever)

    Important notes:
If there is no ACC power line in the car, do not connect the red lead.
Ensure the power select switch on the bottom of the unit is in the B position, then press the RESET button (behind the faceplate).
This means that the display will be off when the unit is not in use - avoiding a flat battery risk.
(Posn A is for normal use, with red line on ACC)

The RESET buttom should be pressed after installation, before initial use.

    Hope this helps.

..just read about your reception/interference problems and, having lived through similar situations for some time — particularly with different weather conditions. The following solution has settled it all : wrap power cable around storage brackets at back of radio with a short length then wound around support posts (between radio and cupboard from which radio hangs), then run short length to power supply outlet. In my case this result comes after much experimentation with the length of unwapped power cord (including fully unwrapped and stretched out) and different patterns of winding around the support posts. This final result takes care of everything (better sound, no interference/loss-of-reception when moving around in the room or in front of the radio, weather has no effect, stations received that could not be before due to overlap by nearby, more powerful ones). I have only about 2 1/2 feet of cable running from the brackets at back of radio, then wound once around center support and half around right support to then go to wall and down to receptacle close by (I tried all kinds of combinations of unwrapped lengths and winding patterns around 1 to 3 posts)...individual cases may be different. so GOOD LUCK, 'cause the radio is great...!
