My new PC with the new Vista Vision will not except the software that came with scanner for my Epson Perfection 1260 Model J121A.What can you do ?

In Vista there is a feature called UCI (user access interface ) that won't allow you to run or install system software.
To install software you need to put CD in, if it goes autorun stop it.
  • Then you click on computer ,
  • click right button of mouse on cd and chose OPEN or EXPLORE, dont double click as it will go autorun again and you'll need to stop it.
  • Locate the installer file (setup or something.exe) in the CD contents.
  • Click right button of mouse on installer file (within cd files) and chose ' run as administrator ' from drop down menu
  • Grant access to installer file whenbever required by Vista.

It should be installed normally. If you still get problems after this it is probably a faulty CD.
