Unit-hand tool switch

Is there a diagram showing how to take the unit apart to fix the switch that controls the vacume source, hand tools or unit. I believe the switch on my unit is broken and needs replaced. Then, where do I get the part that is broken?

Maybe this picture will help, most vacuum repair shops should be able to get the part you need. You can also try bissell.com.

I have a Hoover SteamVac F5914-900 SpinScrub... The last time I used the hand tool attachment, it worked fine. Just tried to use it again, and now I only drips of water will come out of the hand sprayer,...

The brushes can be turned off on most of them via a switch on the hood. There shouldn't be water coming out onto the floor unless you are pulling the trigger at that top. You probably broke this when attempting to use the tools.

Can't get my bissel steam cleaner to sucktion

Check on board switch for tools only or vacuum, is switched to vacuum, as majority of vacuum suction power is diverted to hose/ hand held devices. See if vacuum hose has suction as well? The unit may be clogged with carpet fibresas well and the unit may have to be taken apart and cleaned thoroughly.

Reset button or Fuse on my Infinity?

Ok, I took it apart, cleared the clog out, and put it back together. It wouldn't switch to "carpet". Got no answer on my question. Took it apart again, only I went further. Took apart the bottom - brush out, all inside bottom parts out, cleaned all that part of vac. No clogs down there. Ran the carpet/bare floor switch back and forth several times while I had it apart. Put it all back together and it worked fine. Still didn't find a fuse or reset button...

Replace the switch that controls hand tools to the upright unit

If that flap isn't moving when you turn the knob for floor or hose, then yes it is broken, part #2136988 is the diverter valve. You will have to remove the top cover, it mounts on the underside of it.

No suction when vacuming floors

Hi.

There are 2 types of Dc07 one is clutched & has two belts the second has only one belt going from motor to brush roller.

Lay machine on its side pull back handle as if you are to vac carpet switch machine on look to see if brush roller is spinning.

If it is not spinning unplug machine from mains supply & remove the sole plate by turning the three plastic screws to unlock position, Lift sole plate away if you have non clutched machine you will now see the brush roller with A belt going from this to the motor shaft belt may have snapped or come off so replace it.

If your Dyson has A clutch unit this engages the brush roller when you pull the handle back to vacuum.

Check the clutch control knob which is at the bottom left side of machine looking from the front.
It should rotate to drive position when handle is pulled back.

If it doesnt turn the knob by hand to drive.

If you still have no brush rotation after doing all this then either the clutch is faulty or the second belt which goes clutch to motor has snapped & will need replacing.

There are service manuals available for these repairs at this site
