Intermittent functioning just suddenly after about 8 months of perfect use, the mouse quit working properly. i had to unplug it, then re-plug it back in. sometimes this would allow it to work again for a few minutes, other times it still wouldn't work.

Why is my Perixx PERIMICE-712B Mouse only working intermittently after only 7 months?

Because it is a no name mouse with little or no warranty. You're lucky it worked as long as it did.

We bought my daughter a Netbook for Christmas and she has been using it for a month. This morning the keyboard is not functioning. We've tried powering it off and back on again and the keyboard will work...

It's clearly a hardware problem. It looks like as soon as the temp of the computer rises, internal connections for keyboard and mouse fails. You must take it to warranty. In the meantime, you can workaround the issue plugging external usb keyboard and mouse.

Well, if you have a faulty battery and the your power source is lost, the USB obviously won't work either. Sometimes when there's a sudden loss of power, the computer's devices won't function properly. A hiccup in the programming will mess them up. I would suggest getting a new battery. I hope this helps.

The mouse appears to be on but the pointer on the screen does not move. The keyboard is still working. The re-set button does not correct the problem. Re-booting the computer does not work.

The same thing happened to me today. Somehow, something uninstalled my setpoint mouse software?!?!
While I was actually using the mouse?!?!
(it just stopped moving all of a sudden)

Don't ask me how/why this happened but I fixed it by unplugging the MX1000--both power and usb connection, plugging in an old serial mouse, rebooting the computer, opening mouse properties, going to the Mouse settings (in Control Panel), clicking the Setpoint tab, telling it to look for an update to the Setpoint program, letting it download and install the program automatically, then unplugging the old serial mouse, plugging in the MX1000 (usb first, them Power) and Voila'! Working as it should once again, even without a reboot. :o)
I love this mouse--perfect size, fast, programmable, accurate, long battery life, Perfect!

It sounds like a short in the mouse's wiring. Best to get a wireless mouse if you use it alot
