My explorer's odometer stopped working, all other guages on the dash work fine, speedometer..etc, I've tried resetting the trip odometer several times to see if that will get it going but no joy. any suggestions?
I have the same problem, however there is no cable on my model. There is a small motor inside the cluster which drives the gears for the odometer, the worm gear on mine broke (cracked into pieces, cheap junk). Probably have to go to a junk yard to get the speed/tach cluster.
Check the speed sensor in the transmission.
Being a 95 it might still be cable driven. Disconnect the cable from the transmission and hook a drill to it. Spin it and see if it registers. If it does, the gear going into the tranny is broken, if it doesn't the cable is probably broken.

Speedometer works fine so its not the cable. My odometer went out two weeks ago as it shifted to 95000 miles. Dealer says replace it for about $500. Any other solutions? Is there a gear head to be replaced?
