I like these little RC IR watches. They're great fun!!! For this tutorial, you will need....

  • A small Phillips heads screw driver
  • A pin (or needle)
  • A replacement CR2032 battery
Instructions :
  1. Remove the 4 screws from the back of the watch
  2. Carefully remove the back plate, do not damage the delicate rubber seal
  3. Carefully remove the delicate rubber seal
  4. Use the pin to remove the small rubber block from the battery cover clasp.
  5. The pin should then be inserted in the gap of the white plastic lug, where the rubber block was removed.
  6. Use the pin to gently pull back the clasp of the battery cover.
  7. The battery cover will then open with a 5mm gap approx. It does not need to be removed.
  8. Use the screwdriver to remove the battery.
  9. After the battery has been replaced, just follow the instructions backwards.
I hope this little tutorial has helped.

Thanks, I got the back off and couldn't figure out how to open the clasp:
    "I don't have a screwdriver that small" I thought to myself ...
    Use a pin of course!

I have a casio cmd 40 i recently changed the battery and the keypad did work. it still switched on but the key pad was not working

hi lagathon121 I had the same problem after i replaced the battery and what i did was to short the + end of the battery plate with the - end for two seconds, apparently this will reset the watch. there is also a sticker pasted on the battery plate holder.

Casio SPF 40 beeper not working after battery change

There is this little spring which fits in one of the small holes in the watch. When I tested my watch without the spring, there was no beep. With the spring in place the sound worked nice again. So (IMO) apparently the little spring is used as contact between the watch en the "speaker" placed at the back of the watch.

Pieter
