Question about Projection Televisions

Cobweb in projection tv

I have a panasonic PT47WX42F and I just noticed a cobweb behind the screen. Since I just paid $375 to have the convergence IC's swapped out I'm reluctant to have the service guy come again for this.
In examing the chasis I see that there are a series of screws that look like they hold the chasis to the screen portion, but I'd like some advice if thats the best approach or should I pull the back service panel and try to get to the back of the screen from that point.

Take the back cover off as the mirror is attached to it then you can clean the mirror and the inside screen and colour gun lens's (3off) there should be 8 to 10 screws around the outer edge of frame and about 6 to 8 holding the screen portion to the chassis

I have a 61'' Panasonic tv that is showing green and red outlines around the figures on the screen. It originally started as just green outlines. Any ideas on what the problem is would be great. Thanks

The convergence is off. The convergence is basically the assimilation of the image on the screen from the three "guns" behind the screen. There should be a menu option to align the convergence in the image portion of the menu. If this does not fix the issue, then your convergence chip might be on it's last leg.

Panasonic PT-60LC14 Convergence Issue

Projection TV sets have two very common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture
