I have just bought a panasonic viera 42" tv. How can you get the HD working? It says it has freesat and HD built in but do I need to buy anything else to get this working?

No, just plug your anologue aerial into it and go into tv's menu and into setup then tv installation and it should take you through it step by step

I bought the tv about 10 years ago and was told I would have to buy a separate "box" for HD reception. Any clues?

dc6piece,

This unit does not have a HD tuner so you would need a separate box. See Best Buy. They can help you.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

I purchased an Insigna HDTV (or so I thought) at Best Buy a year ago, anticipating the February 09 conversion. I also bought a HD specific antenna, since I don't subscribe to either cable or the...

I was not aware that there are HD specific antennas. But, that aside, I don't know enough to answer without the model number of your set and information about the antenna, such as how you have it connected, is it amplified?
Best Buy is usually pretty good about helping with solutions. Have you called or visited a store? Be sure to ask for the Geek Squad person/s that are specifically assigned to TV's. Also most of their Dept heads are pretty knowledgeable concerning conversion and the associated problems. My apologies for not having a better answer.
