You should just be able to press any key. You can go into the customer programs and set the sleep mode to 4 hours before going into sleep mode.
If the machine has been idle for more than 4 hours, it will physically turn the machine off, I will look up the adjustment and post it back to you here in a couple of minutes.

Here is how to modify power save and sleep mode.

The Power Saver feature can be used to significantly reduce power consumption during inactivity.

NOTE: There is a Power Saver button located on the upper, right of the Control Panel that lights-up when the Power Saver feature is enabled.

The Power Saver feature operates in the following modes:

    • Low Power Mode: The machine automatically switches to the Low Power Mode after a certain period of time from the last copy, fax, scan, or print operation. In this mode, the Touch Screen is turned off and the Power Saver light is on. The Low Power Mode is canceled when the Power Saver button on the Control Panel is pressed, or a fax or print job is received by the machine. By default, the machine will enter the Low Power Mode after 15 minutes of inactivity. The default setting can be modified within the range of 1 to 240 minutes.
    • Sleep Mode: The machine automatically switches to the Sleep Mode after the Low Power Mode continues for a certain period of time. The Sleep Mode has a reduced power consumption compared to Low Power Mode. In this mode, the Touch Screen is turned off and the Power Saver light is on. The Sleep Mode is canceled when the Power Saver button is pressed, or a fax or print job is received by the machine. By default, the machine will enter the Sleep Mode 60 minutes after the machine enters the Low Power Save Mode. The default setting can be modified within the range of 1 to 240 minutes.

To modify the Power Saver modes:

NOTE: You must be a System Administrator to perform this solution.

    1. Login to the System Administrator mode. See the Related Items below for additional information.
    2. Press the [Machine Status] button on the Control Panel. The Machine Status screen will be displayed on the Touch Screen.
    3. Select the [Tools] tab.
    4. Select the [System Settings] button.
    5. Select the [Common Service Settings] option under the Group section.
    6. Select the [Machine Clock / Timers] option from the Features menu.
    7. Select the [Auto Power Saver] option, and then select the [Change Settings] button. The Auto Power Saver screen will be displayed.
    8. Use the [Up] or [Down] arrow buttons to select a value between 1 and 240 in the Low Power Mode section.
    9. Use the [Up] or [Down] arrow buttons to select a value between 1 and 240 in the Sleep Mode section.

NOTE: The value of the Sleep Mode must be higher than the value entered for the Low Power Mode.

    10. Select the [Save] button.
    11. Select the [Close] button three times and wait several seconds for the Auto Clear service to logout.

To log in the code is either 1111 or 11111. Either four or five number 1.

It shows erro 124-315

The serial no., product no., and billing count are stored at three locations; the MCU NVM PWB (IOT), the SEEP ROM (SYS1) on the Backplane (BP) PWB, and the ESS NVM PWB (SYS2). This procedure allows the data in all three locations to be synchronized in case of replacement of one of the PWBs, or due to data corruption associated with one of the following faults:
  • 124-324 (3 Billing Counter Mismatch)
124-325 (1 Billing Counter Mismatch; Unable to recover Billing Counter during recovery)
    124-312 (Product No. Mismatch)
    124-313 (Serial No. Mismatch)
124-310 (Product No. Failure: Not initialized)
  • 124-311 (Serial No. Failure: Not initialized)

  1. Enter UI Diagnostic mode ( Accessing UI Diagnostics).
    Select Adjustment/Others.
    Select Machine ID/Billing Data Settings.
Select a PWB with the correct data.
    Select Start.
  2. Enter the correct serial number in the Serial Number screen and then select Confirm.

1 have a xerox copier model XD120F Had apower outage when copier cam back on screen is showing a H4 and not powering up thanks Joe

Since the problem occured after a power outage, you should try resetting the H code.

Press CLEAR, EXPOSURE MODE, CLEAR, EXPOSURE MODE. The display should go blank. Then enter 14 with the copy count keys and press START. If the machine does not turn off and back on by itself - then turn it Off and back on. See if the H code should vanish and your copier should work well.

H4 code on XC1255

Performing a Fault Reset 14 will reset your copier and will help to clear error codes.
  1. Turn the power off.
  2. Locate the Clear Button, which is grey in color, in the upper right corner above the green Start Button.
  3. Locate the Auto Button the lower left corner of the Control Panel.
  4. Turn the power back on.
  5. Press the buttons in the following sequence, releasing each button after each time you press it: [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto]. Every light on the Control Panel should go out, and the error code should clear.
  6. If the error code has not cleared, wait a few seconds then repeat Steps 1 through 5.
  7. Program the copier as if you were going to make 14 copies.
  8. Press the green [Start] button to store the reset code. The copier will return to the ready position.
  9. Run a test copy.
