The problem was not corrected after updating the firmware. Thank you

Total ram memory is 80 mb. It appears as though when tray 3 is empty and a report that calls for duplex printing is run the printer hangs.

    Hello,

If the printer hangs after running duplex printing, please right click on the driver, select Device Setting tab, then increase the printer memory (at the bottom under this tab) to 96 MB.

Also Then click on Advance tab and select the radio button, Print Directly to the Printer.

Let me know the next update.

Duplex printing in HP 2420dn on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4

According to the specs, this printer does not have a duplex unit and therefore cannot print double sided prints.
DOUBLE SIDED PRINTING USING A SINGLE SIDED PRINTER
If your printer does not have a duplex unit then the printercannot print double sided pages automatically.
You can print double sided pages but you have to do it one page at a time.
First print Page 1 then place the page back into the paper tray, but turn thepage upside down and the print Page 2.
Then print page 3 on one side then page 4 on the other side and repeat for therest of the document.
I suggest you try a test page first, to get the printing the right way up onboth sides of the page so it reads correctly.

Why printer 4515 this error MANUALLY FEED OUTPUT STACK for duplex pritnting

HP P4515n is not a duplex printer by default. It is a network printer. ('n' suggests it is a network printer. Duplex printers have 'd' in the model number).
If you want to print both sides, manually feed sheet by sheet. Or else you can do the following:
If you are using, say MS Word, print only the odd pages (Print the normal way. No need to manually feed paper). Then arrange the printed papers in the proper order and keep the printed side as back side. Insert the set of papers in the printer and print only the even pages.
First print a document of about 6 pages to get the hang of it.

Hi there! Printer: HP Laserjet 4100 Problem: does not want to make both side printing. Used settings: Printer Properties->Finishing->Print on Both Sides (click) Thanks for your...

To automatically duplex, you need the optional duplexing mechanism.
If you don't have this, your only option is to print the odd pages first, put the papers back in the tray, then print the even pages.
When you put the pages back into the paper tray, make sure they are print side up.
Try with a 5 or 6 page document first to be sure you get the orientation right.

If you HAVE the optional duplexing unit (which sticks out the front just above the main paper tray) then post a reply here and I'll try to help you further.
99% of the people that own this unit do NOT have the optional duplexer!

Hi,
Alrite now, firstly, since you need only 4 pages of the 200pg document, go to File > Print > Select page range (e.g. 1-4, 51-54, etc)
Then print and make sure you have pages loaded in tray 1.

You can also have papers in tray 2. If MS Word does not respond, then change the drivers to UPD (http://www.hp.com/go/upd), the system may have legacy drivers or An earlier version of firmware.

How to enable duplex printing in hp laserjet 4250

This unit needs to have a duplex unit installed if you want to duplex. If the back of the unit is "flat" you do not have a duplexer installed.

the duplex unit slides into the back of the printer between the back door and the paper tray. when installed you will have a bulge on the back of the printer about 7 inches tall and the width of the printer that sticks out about 5 inches.

after installing the dupelxer you may need to enable it in the print driver under properties then the advanced tab you should see a spot for advanced settings.

Laserjet 4250 not dupexing

Had this same issue on my 4250dtn. The solution in my case was that both paper trays were set to "custom". This is a small lever on the right side toward the back of the paper tray. Even HP was stumped on this. Hope this helps.

HP 4250 DN

Change the tray one behavior from the front panels paper handling menu. from there you can tell tray 1 to print first if paper is present or default to tray 2.
factory settings are to print from tray 2.

are you keeping paper in both trays??
