Question about Car Audio & Video
I have just purchased the Garmin GPS 60 for a handheld back up but also especially for the anchor drag alarm.
I have tried everything but cannot get any volume out of it and it would never wake us up.
What am I doing wrong, where is the volume control? I cant find anything in the manual.
Thanks for any advice on getting the volume to work and setting the anchor alarm.
Lena May i have same problem
There is no volume control, but page 44 of your manual might help.
Go to the setup menu, then select "tones"
Use the drop down arrows to select a tone for "message beep" and "turn warning". One of those two settings is for the anchor drag alarm.
Make sure the mute box at the bottom is not checked off.
When setting your drag alarm, bear in mind that GPS error is usually @9' to 15' it can be as much as 50' in any direction. Which means any drag distance less than 100' is likely to cause false alarms. Choosing a drag distance that is at least twice as much as the position error reported on the satellite status page will minimize false alarms.
