It could be a problem with the software that runs the GPS. Plug your 330 into your PC, go to this link and run the webupdater:

WEBUPDATER

After you update the software, hit the reset button again.

If this doesn't solve your problem, there is an internal hardware failure that can only be repaired at Garmin. You can buy a factory rebuilt model for about the same price as it would cost to repair yours.

Used my garmin edge 305 today on the ride, it worked fine, powered off after the ride. Got home turned on to review my stats and then powered off and went to upload and wouldn't upload, so tried to turn it...

Edge 205 or 305 often crash, then impossible to power on again.

Here is the way to reset the Garmin edge :

Soft reset : hold mode and lap/reset buttons for 10 seconds
Hard reset : device should be powered down, hold start and mode buttons for 3 seconds then pulse press the lap/reset button.

After soft reset, you need to hold start button for up to 10 secs before it starts.

After hard reset, you will loose all your data, including profiles.

My Edge 305s GPS is not working. Everything else runs perfectly fine, it just will not acquire any satellites. I tried a soft reset. It won't let me hard reset though.

Hard reset is not very easy, so follow carefully instructions above.

Now simple advice, did you check in your parameters that the GPS transceiver is turned on ?
There is a mode with GPS off, don't ask why ...
Refer to your manual to find the menu.

After resetting the 330 it only stays on for approx. 3 sec.

This is an issue with the battery not being able to hold a charge.
It is not a user-friendly replacement - as the battery is soldered to the PCB.
It is recommended to have garmin do it under their flat rate repair service for $79.

Garmin Forerunner 305

it wasn't working for me either , but the directions I received wasn't as accurate as some I've seen lately. Ensure:
  • Press mode and reset(lap) at the same time for at least 3 sec. (make sure you press it till you hear that click)
  • after more than 3 sec. let both go
  • now press the power button and let go
  • wait 3-5 sec, then it will power up-
  • repeat if it doesn't work the first time, the key for me was hitting the power button after the reset and waiting for up to 5 sec after releasing the power button
  • the issue is getting it to work the way it should!
  • good luck!

New Garmin 330 stuck on kansas

Take the unit outside and turn it on. Then select View Maps, at the top of the screen it will say either "Locating satellites" or "Acquiring Satellites". Once the garmin has locked onto the overhead satellites, then it will say "Ready to Navigate".

Locating Satellites take longer than Acquiring Satellites.

Wont come on

The gray/silver cover on front of unit comes off and it has a reset button under the cover, push it for 3 sec's and that should do it.
