Question about Computers & Internet

I'm having a problem trying to open a link from within an email that was sent to me. When I click on the link, a window pops up but it stays blank, and I can't understand why. This has never happened before, so I'm not sure what happen to cause this or what I need to do to fix it. If anyone could help me solve this problem, I would appreciate it. Thank You!

Try to ask first the one who send you the email, the link maybe broken or it is not updated and already have a new url. Make sure you have the latest browser plug-ins like flash player and java.

I have lost the ability to use any link that comes with an email, also links to move from one page to another within anything that came via email

Microsoft Windows 2000 loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround');
  1. Double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop to start Windows Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
  3. On the File Types tab, scroll down the list until you locate the N/A section in the Extensions column.
  4. Click the N/A URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol entry, and then click Advanced.
  5. In the Edit File Type dialog box that appears, click the OPEN entry in the Actions box, and then click Edit.
  6. In the Editing action for type: URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol window, click to clear the Use DDE check box, and then click OK.
  7. Click OK, click Close, and then quit Windows Explorer.
  8. Quit all versions of Internet Explorer.
Now links will open in a new Internet Explorer window.
If not try installing mozilla firefox and make it as the default browser

When I go onto a website and try to send my friends a link to the website none of my sent emails are received including the ones I send to my self on my own email

Check to make sure tat Parental Controls in the email client are OFF.

Another way is to use a free mail service such as or

With the page you want to send link to open in one browser window or tab, open the free email in another tab and compose your message.

When you want to insert the link to the page you are sending, click on that tab, right-click in address bar, and choose "copy".

Now go back into mail site, right-click in message body, and select "paste".

The link should now mail without incident.

Good luck !!

a system configuration utilities window opens
click on the boot.ini tab
put a mark by network
move 2 to teh righr and put a mark by network
drop down and click apply and move left and click close
restart the computer
it will come up in safemode
click on your user account and click ya when it asks
do you want to run in safe mode

when you in safe mode, open internet explorer and type and see if you can access the router
the username and password are both admin

if you have DSL, set it up for PPPoE on the basic set up tab and put in your username (your email address like and your password)

click save changes at the bottom and continue
click the status tab and if it says connect, click it
if it says disconnect, leave it alone and open antoher internet explorer window and go to to see if you online

if you are, click start, run, type msconfig and click ok
when the window comes open, click on the boot.ini tab again and unmark safeboot, click apply and close and restart the comptuer to get back to regular mode.

Cd burner

You may want to double-check the "error" message. Normally, when you insert a blank CD-R or CD-R/W you'll see a pop-up message that says something like, "you've inserted a blank CD. What program do you want to use to put something on it?" And then it will give a list of programs like Windows Media Player, Nero Burning ROM, Roxio, MyDVD, etc. The last two choices are "Open a writeable folder" and "Do nothing." The next to last, the open folder, option is the CD recording option for Windows. Once you've put copies of that data into the new window click on the "burn these files to disc" link on the left side or located under the File menu at the top of the window.

Now, if it truly is telling you that you have to insert a blank CD, then you may have one of two problems. Either the CD you're putting in is NOT actually blank or the drive is having problems recognizing the media. To test the first scenario, try the disc on another computer. If it's truly blank, then try uninstalling the CD burner from your Device Manager located in the Windows control panel. Double-click on the System icon > Hardware tab > Device Manager > click on the (+) symbol next to DVD/CD-ROM drives and then highlight your Sony CD burner > right-click and in the menu choose Uninstall. Reboot your system and let Windows redetect the drive and reinstall the drivers (You may want to have any install discs handy, just in case Windows asks for them, but not likely).

I hope that helps!
