My Dishlex DX302SB is not heating the water, dishes are not being cleaned during cycle...how do I fix?

  • Anonymous Dec 21, 2008

Ive changed my element and still have the same problem.

Suppose it could be the stat or maybe even the controller unit.

One other issue which I dont think it related is the catch on my detergent dispenser is broken meanign the lid does not stay closed.

Who posted this comment I am really appreciative. I have had the same problem with my dishlex. I disassembled the plumbing and removed a chunk of plastic wrapping from inside the pump. Then I checked the heater with a multimeter. It measured fine.
The next day I read this post and have since removed the controller. I found the burnt solder joint mentioned. I have since cleaned up the mess, repaired the circuit board, re-soldered the effected component and the dishwasher is now working better than ever.

I have read elsewhere that this problem arises when the door is opened while the heater is on and the program hasn't been paused. I don't know if that is the exact cause but in my house we will be more careful about that from now on.

The damage to the circuit board was on the Normally Open terminal of the relay used to control the heater. The heater is marked as being about 2100 watts. The relay is marked as being able to switch 125Vac. Which is interesting because power here in Australia is 240Vac. At 240Vac the heater will draw a little under 10 amps when operating.

Anyway the circuit board trace is possibly a little narrow at the point where the burnt connection was and I can see why it would have burnt out. The other terminals on the relay were showing signs of becoming dry joints too. The repair was effected by completely removing the relay, cleaning all the joints, re-soldering the relay and laying a loop of tinned solid wire around the burnt terminal to replace the missing piece of circuit trace.

Anyone who has a little skill with a soldering iron could perform this repair. The worst that could happen is you could lift what is left of the circuit trace from the board. Since the controller is already broken you can have a go and probably save yourself the cost of a new controller.

Mine too displayed the same problem - not heating, therefore not cleaning or drying properly (door still cold 20 minutes into cycle). I've found that there is a common (yet not often talked about) issue with a point on the controllers circuit board. If you remove the controller (simple to get at), remove the circuit board from the controller and flip it over you will see a 'burnt' solder joint on one of the legs to a black box component - resolder that joint and all should be well. Don't pause or open the door during a cycle as this seems to cause the joint to blow.

Dishlex 302 water not heating

My son fixed this problem with our DX302 dishwasher only this morning. Now works fine and hot. Found the solution on this site posted 11 august 2008 from dishwasher dishlex dx302wb no hot water. There are photos to help you. Take out the circuit board in the top of door and resolder the points on left hand side of green board there are 2 long solders and a half moon. The problem is at the top of the 2 long solder lines. Do not replace your element. There is a fault with the circuit boards on this model 302. I want to thank all the posters for helping me fix my no hot water problem.

Dishlex Global Unable to remove heater element retaining screw

I have a simialar problem with the Dishlex 450 Global model, after searching for the heating element on line, I found a picture of the element (450 model), showing that the Stainless Steel screw is actually spot welded to the element bracket, hence you should be able to remove it by accessing a retaining nut from underneath the dishwasher....(turn power off first!)..

No heating in dishwasher

Do not plug it into hot water UNPLUG. It needs cold water going through the system.

It may be the heating element or just a loose connection on the computer panel.
