Best Buy should be able to repair that for you. It is a little complicated for a regular person. I have the steps but they are not easy. Let me know if you want them.

Dear its a great job to do. you have to soldered it. or fix it by inserting the open clips to the remaining ones and finally fix the battery. use some tape or other to keep it fix.

How to change cmos battery asus b202

Power down and unplug the electric cable. Open the side of your computer. On the motherboard there is a small, silver battery that looks like a US quarter. That snaps out. Usually there is a small wire snap of some kind that holds it in. Press that to one side and the battery will come out. There will be a number on one side, take that battery to any retail store and buy another. When installing, be sure to keep the polarity correct, do not reverse the battery or the computer will do really strange things and probably will not even boot.

When i unplug the power cable it lost all bios settings

Hi Rahul,

The most common cause for this problem is the CMOS battery on the motherboard which is faulty or dead. The battery is there to keep the time, date and BIOS settings in tact when you unplug the PC.
You can buy a new battery at your local PC store and replace the old one. These batteries are not expensive and is worth trying.

Best wishes,

What size battery is in the compaq PP150aa?

Considering it's a desktop, I'm assuming the battery you're referring to is what's known as the CMOS battery and it's a CR2032.

You can find it at any electronic shop (eg. Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc.)

HERE is an example.

Check volume control and Mixer settings for mutes. still have the problem, If you are using pci sound card then open cpu, and just remove sound card and put it back, if it is onboard sound then just remove cmos battery for 1 or 2 minute and put it back (before removing cmos battery, just write it down the bios settings). still have problem, just buy the " pci sound card" . No need to change the Motherboard . best of luck...

I have a 30gb ipod classic it would not turn on and it keep reading battery very low please wait ...so to replaced the battery and it still saying the same thing my friend said that i need a new logic boad...

> is he right?

Maybe. If the cable that connects to the iPod that you use to recharge the battery is broken, then _NO_ battery (old or new) can get recharged. Borrow a cable from a friend, or connect your iPod to your friend's cable, to see if changing the cable allows the battery to charge.

If that does not help, then your friend could be correct.

Note that some "big-box" stores, such a BEST BUY, will take your iPod as a "trade-in" on a new iPod. Put the old battery back in before you do the trade-in, and sell the new battery on eBay or CraigsList.

My computer uses a SOYO motherboard SY-P4VGM v1.0 and slowed down tremendeously. Best Buy checked and found 3 bad capacitors. They won't fix it. If I can buy the capacitors I can replace them myself. Or...

Unless you are a skilled electronics technician who has significant experience with heat sinks you are unlikely to be able to successfully fix your motherboard. It is much more likely you will fry some other component(s) while trying to perform the solder.

I recommend you buy a working motherboard still under warranty.

I am working on a inel. The 5V light on the MB was blinking and of course, the PC wouldn't turn on. I replaced the P/S and the issue seemed solved - now the 5V light is on steady but the PC has an issue...

It sounds like your CMOS Battery is dead. As soon as you power down, your cmos loses it's information, however, keeping the battery in the motherboard completes the circuit and prevents it from restarting. Your best bet is to look what kind of battery your CMOS runs off of, this is common amongst almost all motherboards, albeit I can't remember which one it is off the top of my head. Anyway, Buy a new battery and replace old CMOS battery with new one. This should resolve your problem. If you still have problems after this, your motherboard might be damaged and you should look into getting it repaired or replaced. I hope this helps.
