Comp. components Hi to all Have purchased an ATI RADEON HD 4850 grahics card , and wanting to build a sub $1000 gaming comp. around this card. Could you please suggest a list of components to suit. Cheers Steve ( from home of the all- blacks LOL )

The motherboard will work with a Radeon graphics card as long as it is a PCI-E card. Your problem is more likely to be either a weak PSU or a badly fitted CPU. make sure the CPU fan is connected and runs at switch on and that you have used thermal paste on the CPU/heatsink mating face. Then check your PSU is serviceable. You can get a PSU tster for a few pounds or dollars form most online computer parts suppliers.

Go for ATI Radeon HD 5570 ,it comes with DDR3 memory module and 1 GB RAM and costs
around Rs.5,000.

And if you can dish out a little over Rs.1,000 more then buy ATI Radeon HD 5670,it has got

I installed a ATI RADEON HD 4850, D/L ALL DRIVERS, BUT MY SCREEN IS ALL WEIRD COLORS AND MY ICONS ARE HUGE!


If you are using windows, right click the desktop and go to settings, verify that the Radeon is showing as the installed device, if it shows the radeon, then increase the irresolution to 1024x768 just to be safe, and make sure color quality is 32 bit.

I would suggest a

Gigabyte S-series AM2 (GA-MA69GM-S2H model to be exact)
AMD Phenom 9700+ Quad-Core CPU
4Gig 9600 Kingstone RAM with heatsinks

The mobo i mentioned comes with HD onboard audio as well.
