Question about Computers & Internet

Open Question

I have installed Music Ace Deluxe ion my MacBook pro, but I cannot change the midi option off the "none" selection in the screen that appears when I launch the software, and so none of the midi test instruments can be heard. I saw Bruce508 had addressed a midi issue with this software before. Do I need to install a special codec or something for Music Ace Deluxe to work on my Mac? I use iTunes and Garageband for everything and have not had any trouble with their playback (or the digital keyboard sound generator in garageband. Hope my question is specific enough!

SOURCE: Unable to start in Safe Mode with Command Prompt in XP Media Center 2005

Hi there. My name is Alex and I am here to help solve this problem

Depending if the BIOS has legacy USB support for keyboard and mouse enabled, you should be able to run safe mode by pressing F8 before the computer boots into windows. I would not recommend going into the BIOS if you do not have much knowledge to the computer as one wrong configuration could cause some behaviour problems or even damage to the pc's components

I recommend connecting a keyboard and mouse that have cable and the PS/2 connectors (purple and green) which can be found at back of the computer at the top. Then restart your computer, hold down F8 and you will be able to run safe mode. The mouse and keyboard will then work

Keep both the keyboard and mouse plugged in and boot windows. When you get into windows, plug in the USB keyboard and mouse into a USB slot and wait whilst it detects it. After a couple of minutes you should be able to use your USB mouse and keyboard and take out the PS/2 keyboard and mouse

I hope this has helped. Please let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

SOURCE: mac laptop keyboard locked

im sorry to tell you that most likely you have gotten some sort of fluid down into the keyboard wich has shortcircuited it.

Why did you wipe it in the first place? did you try to remove something you spilled? or was the cloth you wiped with wet?

Make sure the driver is there first, if not download the driver. Then goto system prefs and click on audio. In there select the driver and that should do it.

Why are the Keys on my axiom pro 61 not sending MIDI messages?

Does your keyboard have a "MIDI OUT" port? If yes, then
there is a selection to choose between USB or MIDI OUT port.
For my M-AUDIO oxygen 61 (silver), I must press the [Advanced] button then Note F3 on the music keys manual to toggle the MIDI-OUT.
If set to INT, it will not sent via USB. If set to USB it will not send via MIDI-OUT port. To use MIDI-OUT port I need external 12V DC adapter.

Just bought a 2006 MacBook Pro 2.16GHz, 2GB Ram, 120 GB HD It came with an openly disclosed problem: a consistent "USB Over Current" error message popping onto screen. (yes, I've read relevant...

Hello and thank you for visiting Fixya Support, I will be glad to assist you.

The "USB Over Current" error is a hardware issue. From my experiences with this error,
this issue does not occur due to a software, but the actua USB port on the main logic board of the
Macbook Pro.

This USB Over Current error impacts the USB in different ways. For example, if there has been any liquid spill on the Macbook Pro or there has been anytime of surge, blackout or brownout during the operation of this Macbook Pro, such incidents can cause a short circuit within the main logicboard that the USB ports are connected to.

The best step you can take to resolving this is to take the Macbook Pro in for service at your local Apple Store or Apple-authorized service center and have a full assessment completed to let you know what can be done.

Most times the remedy, is to outright replace the Macbook Pro's main logicboard, but that is such an expensive option, I do not want to even touch on that as a possibility right now.

As a professional Apple technician, I can only provide you viable options in a case like this and so my recommendation is to take your Macbook Pro in and have it diagnosed.

This issue will not go away without hardware repair.

Just for your reference, I have taken the liberty to provide the store locator links to your local Apple Retail store as well as a general store locator for locating any local Apple Authorized Service center in your area.

Trouble with hooking mpc4k and korg triton pro to mbox

you will want your triton midi-in to go to your mpc midi-outB

then your mpc midi-inA to go to your mbox
your mpc midi-outA to go to your mbox

that should get you good for midi cables....

on the mpc, everytime you want to record a track using instruments from your mpc you will need to set a new track. on the main screen you would go to a new track (where Tr:01-Track-01 is) and change S:DRUM1 to S:MIDI, then to the right of that where it says OFF, turn that to 1A-Device01 ... you will have to make a new track for each instrument you use to help when bouncing tracks to mbox. for instance 1A-Device01 is the 1st track on your triton, 2A-Device02 is your second track and so on. make sure you also make a new track each time for where Tr:01-Track-01 is also for each instrument.

for the mbox i might be a little rusty on this so im going to post a quote from another site....

"in Pro Tools, go to setup - midi - midi studio. this is where you tell pro tools where your midi devices are connected. next, go to setup - midi - midi beat clock. you want to 'enable midi beat clock' and select the devices that are going to be receiving midi beat clock. all devices that you setup under midi studio should be showing. next, set pro tools' tempo for the session if you haven't already. This setup is based on Pro Tools being the MASTER device and the other device(s) SLAVE(S). Make sure that on your hardware/midi interface that the midi output is going to the midi input on the slave devices. On the mpc, press mode, then pad 9 and go to the sync tab. Choose "slave" under "sync in" and the port, 1 or 2, that your mpc will receive midi input. That's it!! When you start Pro Tools' sequencer, the mpc should start too at the same bar/beat location. I've tried slaving Pro Tools to the MPC1000 and Fantom Xa on diff. occasions but I could never get them in sync with Pro Tools. Tried diff. framerates and settings, but still, no luck. So I prefer using Pro Tools as the MASTER sending midi beat clock. Another thing, make sure that whatever you're tracking into Pro Tools doesn't change tempo during the song. If so, you'll have to edit tempo events in the tempo ruler. Hope this helps!!"

let me know if you need any more help.

Usb midi keyboard configuration

It is easy. Use "Preferences" from the screen after you enter your name. Then go to Midi Input options. Probably "None" is checked, but if your keyboard is connected properly and was on when you started Music Ace, there should be at least one other choice. That is for your keyboard, so check that one instead. You can see if you are now working with the Midi keyboard by pressing keys on your keyboard and see whether the corresponding keys highlight on the picture of the keyboard on the computer screen. When you have it working, exit out back to the main menu.

Keep in mind that many of the concepts taught in Music Ace are more about notation and music theory and, as such, do not use the keyboard, so the keyboard is only useful in certain limited areas of the game. Still, though, it can add fun.

Hi need sound

Certain early models of the Sound Blaster cannot do both MIDI input and wave (audio) output at the same time. Thus, if you've selected "Creative Labs" as a MIDI In device in Cakewalk’s Options | MIDI Devices dialog, wave audio output won't work. Note that MIDI output will work fine along with wave audio output: you can select Creative Labs from the list of MIDI Out devices. The problem occurs only when you've selected the Creative Labs MIDI In device.

Hope that helps!
