How do you install a thermal fuse kit on a Magic Chef CYE4000AYW. Unlike other models it doesn't look like you can just take the back panel off; do you really have to take the top and back off?

The thermal fuse kit is accessible from the top of the dryer. Disconnect power and using a putty knife, release the two spring clips holding the top cover to the cabinet. Insert the putty knife in the seam between the top cover and the cabinet at about 4 inches from the sides. Lift the top cover when the first spring clip is released while releasing the second clip then lift the top cover to the rear of the dryer.

The high-limit thermostat is located on top of the heater housing at the rear of the dyer. Remove the screw that secures the high-limit thermostat bracket and replace the thermostat.

The thermal fuse is located on the right hand side of the heater housing and is mounted on a bracket. There's a 1/4" hex-head screw that holds both the heating element and thermal fuse brackets. Remove the screw and the thermal fuse bracket can be lifted off.

The thermal fuse bracket has two locating tabs, one at the bottom and the other is half-way up. Lift the bracket to clear the tabs then remove it and replace the thermal fuse. Reinstall the thermal fuse and high-limit thermostat brackets in reverse order of the removal steps. Press down on the top cover against the cabinet to reengage the spring clips.

I have a Maytag performa dryer and the idler pulley came off and i need to know where to attach the spring that it has back to.

Make sure the idler arm with pulley is in the right location and then hook the spring into the idler arm bracket, then look for where the spring might have been attached on the frame of the machine within the limits of a stretched spring.
I will also send you a website that may help you, they have schematics of dryers and it may give you some help.
http://www.partselect.com/ if not then try this one.

Good luck,

Belt tensioner/bar not enough tension

Check closely where the idler bracket was at and also the spring location.
You look for a worn area on the frame of the dryer and also the worn area on the idler arm bracket. Once you locate the right place for them to go, then put your spring on and check to see where it may hook up, there should be a small worn spot to look for...Just remember that the spring will be under tension when it is hooked up. So look for an area that would be worn with the spring stretched out somewhat.
I will send you a website to check also, they have schematics of dryers and they may be able to show you the approximate location of the bracket.

Hi i am trying to put on a new drive belt on my zanussi tc-470 but i cannot get the belt to tension please advise

You should have an idler bracket with pulley and spring.
The spring will normally attach to the frame of the dryer.
I will send you a couple of websites, they may have a schematic of your dryer and where the parts are located.

I have a kenmore #110.72812101 gas dryer. the burner comes on, then goes off after 2-3 min. is there a schematic online? thanks, jim

The 2 coils ( kit ) need to be replaced on the burner valve . One of them gets hot and opens ( shorts internally ) and wont work again , until dryer cools down for a while . Pt # 279834 . You can easily replace . 2 screws hold the coil bracket on . Don't even have to cut off the gas , or pull the dryer out from wall .

Cant remember where wires go in tumble dryer

Most all washer/dryer manufacturers put a wiring diagram and electrical schematic somewhere on the unit. Sometimes it's in the "head", others it's on the inside of the removeable panel used to access underneath the gut's of the unit, from the back. And then sometimes it's just on the back of the unit.

I tried to find a wiring diagram for you, put the Model number does not come up.

Stacking Frigidaire dryer on washer using stacking kit 5303937141

You have to take the top off the washer a put it aside. You no longer need the top. Then you put the two angle brackets on the front top of the washer. this is where the front of the dryer will attach. The back of the washer either has or needs the brackets put on the top (been a long time since I did this). Remove the leveling legs from the dryer. Then lift the dryer and slide it on top of the washer with the back touching the top of the washer and the front about 2 inches higher than the washer top. The back of the dryer slides into the back brackets which are on the top back of the washer. Then lower the front of the dryer and the two "L" brackets on the front top of the washer slide through cracks into the dryer. Pop off the two plastic plugs on the dryer bottom front and place a screw in each one to hold the unit in place. Replace the plastic caps and you are done.
