I have an older (1997) Rowenta DE 11 Powerglide iron. In the process of cleaning it, I mixed up the order of the wires. The colors are brown with the power cord, dark blue with the power cord, blue by itself and blue with a black. Looking that the bottom from left to right, I am trying to determine the correct order. I know this is a long shot. I've looked online but haven't been able to find anything else useful.

If you can take a sharp picture of the circuit board and send it [email protected] I might be able to help you.
P.S. Make sure all wires and circuit board are clear.

My Rowenta Power Glide DE-08 iron has stopped working. Once, if I moved the cord around it worked. So I I took it apart and checked the wiring connection which seemed to be tight. I then plugged it in...

hi.

you will probably find that the cable is broken where it comes out of the iron.
this is not an unusual problem as the wire is being constantly bent and straightened here, and eventually breaks.

take the iron apart as you did before to check the connections, and cut of the last 4-5 inches of the cable and reconnect in exactly the same way it is now.
this should cure the problem.

hope this helps

At high temp settings water leaks out of steam holes in bottom

You want to run the self-clean mode. Fill with water, then over a sink, with the iron facing down, press the self-clean button. Steam will eject, along with sediment and water deposits. You may have to repeat numerous times. The iron requires soft water, if you don't have soft water at the tap then buy bottled water at the grocery store to prevent this problem.

You can also buy a cleaning solution that you mix into the water reservoir, or you can make your own by filling the iron half-full of water then add white vinegar to the fill line, then perform the self-clean mode or steam mode over a sink.

Here is a Rowenta suggestions:

The iron is leaking.

Water: Use tap water in the iron. If tap water is hard or high in organic matter, we recommend using bottled spring water or mix tap water with distilled. Do NOT use 100% distilled water. Many softening systems may cause issues as well.
Auto-Off: If iron is equipped with auto off, you need to move iron or gently shake it an allow it to heat back up before beginning to iron.
Overuse of Burst of Steam: Allow more time between each burst of steam.

The Rowenta site does not list a manual for your older model, but here is their link:

Rowenta DE-09 will not turn on. Plug it in and nothing happens. Is a fuse blown or some problem similar to that happening? Thanks

Rowenta Iron

TO CLEAN THE BOTTOM OF THE IRON, MY NAN USED TO ALWAYS IRON BROWN PAPER, IF THIS DOES NOT WORK, USE A RAG DIPPED IN THINNERS, OR LIGHTER PETROL AND RUB GENTLY.

NORMALLY THE SELF CLEAN SYSTEM IS JUST A BUTTON NEAR OR ON THE TANK THAT YOU PRESS WHILE THE IRON IS ON AND HAS WATER IN, PRESSING THE BUTTON WILL FORCE WATER THROUGH THE STEAM JETS (SO KEEP IRON FACING DOWN) ALSO EMPTY THE IRON AFTER EVERY USE
