same thing shows as USB connected.

thinking that possibly the time not being used has been too long, and battery is not keeping it's charge.

this am, the mentioned display showed, but this afternoon it let me press the button to permit charging of battery ? after the unit was re-connected to USB.

Took unit apart to look inside, lithium battery AE402535P 3.7v 280mAh.

I would like to know where I could get a usb cable to connect to the computer and a manual for my RCA Lycra rd1090A?

The cable is a standard USB cable, it's just that there are some peculiar variations on the end that goes into the device. Just take your Lyra to Radio Shack or what have you and make sure to get the right one.

Wont connect to pc

Try a new/different USB cable. My Lyra was a painful thing with cables. Also, make sure the plug and receptacle are clean. Improper connection can do this.

Also, you should have gotten a driver CD for the player. It contains the correct drivers for the lyra, and will help Windows XP use the correct USB drivers.

Try those and see what happens. It may just be corrupted USB drivers.

Hope it helps bud!

Downloading

connect it to PC and then open Windows Explorer and search for the drive letter that Windows automatically assigned to be your Lyra player. Click on that and look for any folders. Open the song folder (if exists) and then mouse drag your pc song files into this folder. Disconnect USB cable and your songs should be on the LYRA.

How does this work?

When the unit is connected to the computer, ?USB Connected? will be displayed on the screen. During transfer, ?USB Transfer ...? flashes on the display. When the transfer is complete, the display will change to "USB Connected". Do not unplug the USB cable when the display is flashing. Also, check to see if the mp3 file(s) you're transferring is between 32 to 320 kbps. You may need to reinstall the USB driver for this device. Good luck.

this is the best solution you have update your lyra rd 1080/rd 1090 for download the updating click her http://download.rca.com/download/RD1080_90FWUpgrade_v4.26.exe and after instaling this update follwo instructions provided below ? To update your Lyra RD1080/RD1090, make sure you have it connected to the computer via the included USB cable. You will need to make sure that no external memory has been inserted and the Lyra RD1080/RD1090 display reads: "USB Connected Int. Mem". Try this link - they have udated drivers for your player, which hopefully will solve the problem; http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/en-US/Downloads.html?ProductID=RD1070 Try a different cable also, and check by plugging it into a usb port on another computer that the problem is not with your usb ports.
