My samsung htbd1250 starts beeping when i'm watching a dvd or just using for surround sound when i'm watching t.v. the dvd will skip forward when this does this. i turned on the radio on the unit and it still beeped. when it was beeping the the stations were scanning and everytime it picked up a station with good signal it would beep and stop, play music and then it would start doing it again. so when ever u are watching a dvd, the stereo is scanning in the background. got a fix

This is a well known design problem that Samsung will not fix. I have a HT-BD7200 with the same problem. There is a thread at http://forums.cnet.com/7723-6035_102-400962.html?tag=rb_content;forums06 that describes similar problems...alas no solutions...

Receiver won't play blurays and volume goes up and down

Best idea would be to replace this unit with something new. The 1250 model was a huge problem from the time it was made. To get you unit to work again, you would have to get the main pcb and dvd deck replaced. This will cost more than a new system will.

When watching a dvd it starts beeping and skipping. i noticed that when i put it on the radio, the radio starts scanning and when it gets to a channel with pretty good reception it will stop on that...

Hello,it sound to me like you have a (skip) forward button either on the remote control or the units front panel stuck . Remove the remote from the room and see if it continues,if so than look closely at the skip forward button on the unit itself.

Surround sound ok whilst playing dvd but not working for tv

On your Sagem TV you should have two RCA ouputs (red and white connection usually marked ouput) ) Connect these to the input on the surround system using the interlink cable.

You should then be able to hear the sound from the TV by changing the SOURCE on the home cinema remote.

Better still if you have a digital out on your TV use that instead.

CAN ONLY GET THE SURROUND SOUND TO WORK WITH DVD'S NOT WITH NORMAL TV OR SKY?? WHY??

You should have a AUDIO menu in which you can simulate true surround sound. This should be in your owners manual. Your DVD is recorded in dolby surround sound that's why on your set it will be reproduced as recorded. I hope Samsung is using a ATSC tuner in that model?

Movie freezes, skips.

Does sound like the laser. Realitically, not worth repairing. I'd say you'd be worth connecting a cheap DVD player to the system - then the Sony can carry on providing the surround sound audio and the new DVD player can provide the video. Then, if the cheap DVD player is still going, it can move to a bedroom TV if and when you replace the surround system....

Otherwise, I would imaging the speaker set (and even the non-working DVD player) on its own might fetch a reasonable price on an auction site - anyone who has a stolen DVD unit will probably be desparate for the speakers as Sony don't sell them separately!

All DVD`s installed in player skip .Also DVD`s that showed title donot now.

first thing i would do i clean the lens with 90% isoprople alcohol and a q-tip, if that doesn't work watch the laser eye again and the movement is the laser look like it tries to catch up???
i would put a dc volt meter on the motor and the motor should stay at lower voltage if it climbs then there is something with the rails or worm gear. let me know what you find out.
