Azmouth axle (lower mounting) broken off base

I would like to repair the base of my DS-2114 mount! The verticle shaft of the AZ mount has fractured. I am proposing the use of a metal filled epoxy and a long 3/8-24 bolt to hold the casting together. I then propose drilling and threading four holes through the bottom of the casting and into the verticle shaft as a perminent fix.
Has anyone had this same problem with a 2114 base?
Thanks,
Fred

I have done this on another DS mounting as a deliberate modification. In your case I would see if I could get a replacment as it might cost less assuming your time is worth anything. In my case I made a modification and I cut the casting web which I suspect is what broke on yours. Either you had it knocked over or you trie to mount too much weight??? Anyway since yours is a break the precision of the repaire would be in question so geting a repair part would be my first inquiry. Otherwise your fix will be similiar to my modification which was successful!
Best,
Rick

When your take off fast,it makes a loud clanking noise. At easy take off it doesn't make the noise.

You did not mention the year and model which would help to choose a prime suspect, but all I can tell you for sure that is that something is broken that secures part of the drive train. Could be motor mount, transmission mount, guibo in drive shaft, rear axle mount. Could possibly be a shock mount or the sheet metal where the shock mounts attach to the body on an early e46.
The good news is that unless it is the sheet metal around a shock mount, it is most likely an inexpensive repair.

The 360 rotation motor runs (Motor can be heard rinning) But the scope wont rotate. As the product is out of waranty, is it a problem that I could fix my self, as i'm pretty handy with a screw driver...

You can send this into Meade for repairs.
http://www.meade.com/support/index.html

Or you can disassemble the base and look inside. I suspect you have either a loose or broken worm gear inside the base. There are manuals available on the Meade web site but they do not give any disassembly instructions. Call Meade at the phone number above or try taking apart the base and look inside. Only Meade will have replacement parts.

Replace left front axle seal

First you'll have to remove the axle shaft, and here's detailed directions so use whatever info you need. First you'll need to jack up your vehicle place your jack just behind the front lower control arm mount. Take off your tire/wheel, remove the cotter pin and the axle nut retainer, remove the 2 caliper mounting bolts, move the caliper out of the way and support it so it doesn't just hang by the brake hose. Now, slide your rotor off, next you'll need to remove the axle nut and at 180ft lbs of torque you'll need a breaker bar or a heavy duty impact. The nut should be a 36mm if I remember correctly. Remove the bolts holding hub to steering knuckle, remove hub now you can tap it with a hammer to help loosen it from splines on axle shaft. take off the dust cover, pull the axle shaft out now, take out your bad oil seal, grease splines, then install new seal, carefully reinstall axle shaft to avoid damaging the seal, reverse steps and you're good to go. Good luck with your repair

Replace 1997 civic ex alternator

The alternator is removed from the bottom of the vehicle. place the vehicle on jackstands positioned on the body, so the suspension hangs (you'll need this extra clearance to get the alternator past the axle shaft). 1). Disconnect the battery 2.) remove the upper mounting bolt (12mm) 3.) remove the terminal nut from the white wire. (10mm) 4.) Disconnect the 4pin connector 5.) From under the vehicle remove the lower mounting through bolt nut and through bolt (14mm) 6.) Remove the alternator from the lower mount and position the alternator to the side of the lower mount. 7.) remove the two lower mount bolts (14mm) and remove the lower mount asy. 8.) remove the alternator down the axle and out below the wheelwell. its going to be a tight fit so you'll have to turn the alternator at just the right position to get it out.
