Question about Compaq Presario Notebook

1 Answer

Time will not synchronise

Time does not auto synchronise. I have been told the battery is flat that is hidden somewhere in the computer and it has to go back to manufacturer. Is there one around the fraser coast region as it is anoying having to synchronise the time every time I start the computer or when it sleeps. I need the time as I get too consumed and the day- night is gone.

Hi thanks for your prompt attention. I wasn't aware of another battery till I asked the local computer shop and they are not willing to touch it and I would have had it fixed under warranty if I knew. Just thought I was doing something wrong.

The bios battery may be easily accessible. It's ussually located near the ram or underneath the keyboard. If you post the exact make and model I can find out where it is and let you know if it's something you can do on your own

Removing bios passwords

Disconnect power from the computer, then open the computer up and remove the BIOS battery and wait about 30 minutes for all power to drain from the computer. Replace the BIOS battery, reconnect power and turn on. The BIOS password should now be cleared.

The BIOS battery in most desktop/laptop is usually a lithium button battery, round and silver like a very small flat coin, located somewhere on the motherboard. It is fairly easy to remove in a desktop. Laptops are more difficult.

Where is the user guide for pinsentry

You'll notice there are 3 buttons across the top of your reader or within Mobile PINsentry: Identify, Respond and Sign. They all have similar functions (to verify your identity and protect your accounts) but are used in different circumstances.
IdentifyIf you've logged in with your passcode and memorable word and are asked to authenticate using PINsentry (for example if you are setting up Text Alerts) the process is the same as logging in.
RespondThis is used if you're registering for Barclays Pingit or any other Barclays apps. The process is similar to logging in - you'll get full instructions when you register.
SignIf you've made a payment to someone new in Online Banking, you'll be asked to sign the payment. The process is similar to logging in - you'll get full instructions when you're making your payment.
Some things you'll need to know:
  • Your card reader is battery powered and does not need to be plugged in. The batteries should last between 5 and 7 years. Audio card reader batteries will last 2 to 3 years
  • Your card reader will time out and turn off after 90 seconds of inactivity. To reactivate the card reader, remove and reinsert your bank card
  • The card reader does not need to be connected to your computer at any time. It works completely independently, based on your card and the information you enter into it
  • Never accept instructions to synchronise the PINsentry card reader - no synchronisation is necessary
  • Never accept instructions from anyone asking you to enter an account number and amount into the PINsentry card reader unless you wish to make a payment to them

Hi , I have Dell Latitude D600 Laptop, it is working fine but a few days ago , it gave an Error on Boot Screen "Unknown AC Adapter...." while there has been no change in Adapter , Battery or any Hardware....

The Adapter should be able to run the laptop and keep the battery charged. Take adapter to a shop and have it checked. If good then the connector where it connects to laptop is probably bad.

Forgot pasword with into bios to try changing it and know I am completly lock out of my laptop

how to remove Bios password
the easiest way of removing that password is removing the watch battery inside the computer.
remove the computer battery and charger
go ahead and remove the covers from the bottom of the laptop.
you should be able to see a tiny battery hidden somewhere underneat those covers.
go ahead and remove it, wait for about 20 seconds and re insert it I recomend most people to go ahead and get a new battery at this moment (now that is open) and replace it.
after that go ahead and place covers back, battery and turn computer on you are going to have to set the time and date again on the BIoS and windows.
that takes care of the BIoS password.

if it works for you don forget to rate me

I have an acer aspire 5570 laptop. it does not keep the right time even after synchronising a lot of times with the server

if it loses time when you turn it off it means the "c-mos" battery needs to be replaced. a simple and cheap thing to have done in a repair shop if you can't do it yourself.

Cmos battery low! how replace as?

You'll have to take it apart and find the battery inside and replace it. There probably aren't any guides on the net, but if you just take your time you won't need them. Just start taking it apart somewhere flat and clean and it should be straight forward so long as you take your time.

the ram has nothing do with the clock of your computer, for this set the time on bios, then save it and exit it, boot your laptop, check the correct time zone of your area
