Keeps stopping even though I have taken it apart and checked for blockages. +

Are you sure your wall charger is working ok? You might just have a bad battery pack in the sweeper if your charger is working. Do you have a friend who knows electronics and has a voltmeter?

If so, have them check the voltage output of the charger at the plug that goes into the sweeper. Verify that the charger is indeed working ok. Then you will need to check the voltage on the battery pack inside the sweeper to see if your battery is good and holding a charge. A mechanical blockage could be something caught in the vacuum fan blade. You should be able to hold the main part of the sweeper up to your ear so you can hear and then pull the sweeper trigger and see if you can hear the motor try to start. Nothing happening may mean a dead battery pack. Regards, Dennis

How do I get the sweeper apart to change the belt

Well, we need to know what brand of sweeper you have. Usually, there are screws, 3 or 4, or swing tabs on the bottom near the plate where the brushes peek out. Just take those off and, if you don't have a spare belt, take the old belt to the store where you bought your vacuum and get a new one. There should be something molded into the plastic to show how the belt goes on if it should be turned. Otherwise, it will go on some small silver bars. But, really, the brand and model of the vacuum would be helpful.

Rough motor noise

How old is the sweeper? If it is 5-10 years old the motor is probably wearing out and would need it's bearings replaced. You can replace the whole sweeper for less.

Switching new belt for old on older model 3550 Bissell vacuum. Where does belt go and does it go around sweeper bar?

If it has a belt it goes around the sweeper part and connects to the motor.

Bristles quit rotating and smelled like something was burning. It isn't the belt that turns the bristles. Can't afford a repairman, can you help me fix it?

Belt can reamin intact but still jam and burn. It won't necessarily break. I suggest you remove the bottom of the vacuum where the bristles spins and where the belt is located. You may have something jammed in there. You may need to remove the bristle to get the belt out. Inspect the belt and replace after clearing the obstruiction.

I need to change my sweeper belt on my Dyson 14 Animal

When turned on and set to sweep the sweeper makes a loud noise like it has something stuck in it but the brush is turning abut not does not have a lot of sucking power. It started the other day when a blanket with tassels got caught and wund up in the brush and sucked up in the sweeper a bit. Tried to pull out while running and came out but made the loud noise. If I take off the brush then it does not make the noise when on. I think it might be the belt grooves are worn and slipping when the sweeper is in the sweeping on mode. Sorry, do not know the technical sweeper terms.

No suction at sweeper on dyson dc14

It may be something else. I have just had the same problem and I turned my Dyson over and removed the head bar by turning the 3 plastic screws. I found that a small plastic pipe, on the left handside, that attaches the head to the main machine had come off. I eased this back into its housing and problem is now fixed. Not bad for a total technophobe!
