I could not find 5oux58 so i thought this would be close. My tv made a pop sound and then i smelled something smoking and i unplugged it. We were going to look and see if we could see what had burned after we took the back panel off. We plugged it in and a few of the green lights in the back of the tv came on and went off. When we tried turning it on nothing happened, no lights on front or in the back. We are trying to see what needs to be replaced or if it is worth it. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
my will not turn on. the red power lite comes on for split second and than go out. I have done the reset, but nothing happen.

if it is 46F500 UNPLUG SET and remove back cover--on far right side as you look from the back you should see either two smaller or one very large heat sink with fins--the set listed has either one or two STK-392-110 OR STK-392-150 CONVERGENCE CHIPS.
Near them you will see about 12 resistors--look to see if any are burnt or slightly discolored in the middle---you have to look close at them--they can all be checked like checking a fuse--no reading and one is gone----
Point here is if any are bad or smoked--one of the convergence chips got them----the only other way to prove or disprove this is to get at the chips and un-solder all 18 pins on each chip--if set turns on--one is bad and BOTH NEED to be replaced along with any bad resistors--if you smelled something--something toasted--- these resistors are FLAMEPROOF or metal oxide--they will not catch on fire, just pop and go instantly.

This sounds like the solder joints on one of the convergence output IC's have cracked loose or the IC itself is defective and quitting when it warms up. The IC needs to be either resoldered or replaced.
