I have a Kenmore dishwasher model #665.13842K601. The problem that it has is that it does not seem to be pumping the water around the tub after it fills. It will fill and drain fine but will not wash. I have removed the spray arms and checked all the parts that I can get to from the inside but fear that it may be a pump or jammed impeller. it does make a faint buzzing sound when it should be operating. Any input would be great. Thanks, Matt

Most likely problem is food particles or if jars and/or dishes with labels have been washed the scren protecting the scavenger water pump in the bottom of the dishwasher is blocked. Carefully feel around the screen for the blockage. I say carefully because it is a place to find broken glass also.

I have the same problem as those who stated their dishes are not getting clean. If you listen to the wash cycle you should hear water sloshing around inside. If you hear just a humming sound the washer has no water. I have this problem. I had a tech come and he told me the water is syphoning out my drain and I need to change my plumbing, then he charged me $65. I have lived in this house for ten years. 6 with the washer that came with house and 4 with this Kenmore Elite. This problem started about 6 months ago. So what I have been doing is opening the door, after the humming starts and the sloshing stops, and adding about 2 L of water. It seems to wash just fine after that.

dip water out take pump apart remove debris look for broken blades if so install pump kit thumbs up

Happened on my dish washer too. Remove lower rack, remove lower spray arm by removing the center plastic nut, check screws (torx) on outside edge of pump. Tighten these as necessary, mine were loose causing water to spray forward against the tub causing leakage.

Hi, Make sure the jets in the spray arm ore not plugged at all. Check the black bellows on top the lower spray arm and see if it has a split in it. Let me know if these help or if I can assist you further.

Hello. Anything is worth trying! But I would recommend epoxy. It works alot better with plastic and rubber items. Most of the leaks I have found in Kenmore machines are at the water pump. You may want to take a peek while it's running, just stay away from the wires!! Thanks!

Make sure that the water shutoff is turned on. It is likely under the sink where the hot water line is tapped to feed water to the dishwasher. Do you have hot water at your sink?

Dishwashers which are properly installed and regularly used won't normally have a problem with bad odors. Check the following: ?Was the drain hose brought in at the top of the cabinet, or down near the floor? it must be 34" from the floor. ?Do you run the unit at least once every 2 days? -Run a cycle with a quart of vinegar to clean the tub and pump. ?Does the disposal tend to back up slightly when the dishwasher drains? Drain may be clogged. -Don't use gel detergent! ?Check your water softener(If so equipped) These can cause foul odors in the water supply if not properly balanced or maintained Good luck!
