Hi, the motor could be overheating. Most vacuums have a heat sensor that shuts the vac. off if there is a clog. Let it sit, feel if it's hot. If so you may have a blockage of dirt etc. Try to clear it, let it cool and tart it up. I hope this helps, if not let me know with more details and we can narrow things down Chris

Hi,Thanks for the help it turned out to be the brushs in the motor.When it quit it tried to keep running like a car that fouled a plug. Cleaned the armature with some emery cloth put in the new brushs and started right up.

My Kirby only cuts off when the hose is attached? Works great with the head attachment. Any suggestions?
