Whoever you purchased your laptop from should be able to sell you a restore set of disks.

I've heard getting restore disks can be like pulling teeth out but it's better than getting a new license.

When I start the laptop (HP HDX 16) I get this messege: Boot device not found Error codes Hard Disk-(3F0) pleas install an operating system on your hard disk. F2 system diagnostic. but it does not install...

The Windows edition listed in BIOS (Vista) is referring to the operating system that came with the computer. BIOS's System Diagnostics will always say the OS is Vista, because that is the original OS that HP put on the system. BIOS itself, however, cannot detect an operating system on the new Hard Drive because there is no operating system. In order to get an operating system, you have a couple options:

Depending on the terms and length of your warranty, you may be able to get HP to reinstall the operating system back onto the new Hard Drive. The amount you would pay depends on the warranty. Many warranties, however, become void when you change physical components in the computer (especially with laptops). If this is the case, you will have to try the next option.
You can buy a retail copy of Windows either online or from an electronics store. The price will depend on what edition you purchase, but it will probably cost you at least $100 US.
You can install a Linux operating system on your Hard Drive. If you've never heard of Linux, it is an operating system based on much of the same code as Mac operating systems, but has a more "Windows-like" feel to it. Linux operating systems are NOT the same as windows, and some programs that work in Windows will not work in Linux; you would need to find the Linux counterpart for these programs. One of the best things about Linux operating systems are that they are absolutely free to download, install and use. A very popular and stable Linux operating system is Ubuntu, which can be found at: http://www.ubuntu.com/

How to install window xp over window vista as defult

not possible, unless you wish to dual boot the WIndows versions ... 'you will need to place the windows XP CD, boot from this CD and format your Hard Disk and then install windows xp.
make sure you have the windows xp licence key as the WIndows vista licence is not valid for windows xp.
last but foremost .. I strongly suggest you download the three key drivers from your manufacturer for 1) Sound Card. 2) Video Card 3) Network Card and have them available after windows is installed. As Windows does not detect all drivers for your computer. Then install either your current preference of Antivirus software or use AVAST (www.avast.com) which is freely available.
check your vendors website to confirm that there is drivers for your make and model laptop or pc.
good luck ... hope this helps...

I would like to format my computer and reload windows vista on it again. can you tell me how to make a vista disc so i can reload it

You will need to contact your manufacturer for a reload disk that that you can reload your operating system. If your computer was recently purchased or is under warranty, many times they will not charge you for the disk, only shipping and handling. If that is not an option, then you can go to your local Best Buy or other computer store and purchase a reload disk or purchase the operating system.

Want to know if I can update my acer aspire 4530 notebook from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 when it becomes available. Not talking about an upgrade but rather a full install of the product. I...

I would recommend you do a clean install on Windows 7 ie. format the hard disk etc. You can purchase a Windows 7 upgrade CD (which is cheaper to change to Windows 7) but you need the Vista CD to be able to install Windows 7.
If Microsoft has done their job properly you should not have any trouble.
I install the Windows 7 Release Canadidate version, this is the last Beta version before the final release on Oct 09 and I have found no problems with this install apart from some device drivers, but this should be resolved by then, either by Microsoft or the manufacturers of the devices.
Based on this I don't think you need to worry.

No software

You will need to install Windows XP or Vista by putting a Windows XP or Vista disk into the drive and then restarting the computer and running the cd. You can buy Windows Vista at any store that primarily carries computers, such as Best Buy.

Yes. Purchasing a Vista install disc is exactly what you need to do. Install Vista from the disc, then go to the link bellow, download any needed drivers, and you're good to go.

WINDOW XP

To start you will need a Windows xp installation disk and a valid licence number. After this you will need to download the Win XP drivers for your computer. If you want to keep both operative system, then be aware that Microsoft suggest not to install more than one Windows system in the same partition.

good Luck
