Gear easily worn out on Toshiba e-studio45

Good day!

The copy has been alright but occasionally the page darkens, what we do is we clean the screen and the corona wire near the drum because it also darkens.

I have another problem because the small gear (21 teeth) on the developer easily worn-out. I have just replaced it last june and it has worn-out in a month time. Does the gear worn-out easily or there is a reason why the gear easily worn-out.

I hope you could help me again. Thanks.

The dark copies could be that you need to clean your optics aswell, they are under the copy board glass. If the mirrors are dusty you will get alot of back groud in your copis and poor C.Q. I would just use a dry cloth to wipe the mirros off, should be three. Also, I would use a cloth with a little alchol on it to clean the lamp.. Almost forgot turn the copier OFF first. The small gear could be that there is another problem with the developing unit.... There may be a worn out bearing or seal... It should last longer.. Is this the second time it will need replacing? If so you may have to look alittle deeper

My Toshiba e-studio 45 displays "close duplexer cover" and stops there. The cover sensor is fine. The circuit is open somewher-where?

I encountered the same problem a few years back, I found the power supply to be faulty.
You can try checking all the fuses on the power supply.

Sorry that is all i have at the moment.
I will see if i can download the pcboard repair manual.
Please let me know where i can email it to.

Yes, that could give you dark copies on one side of the copies... I use a glass cleaner to clean of the primary charge roller or grid. wipe them off with out getting any thing on the OPC drum it self. Did you clean the optics already?

Gear Toshiba e-studio 45

1-Can you turn the developper by hand? if no ther unit is starting to go bad, usually the bearings and seals need to be replaced ( I did it maybe three times and refused to ever do it again, they hardly ever work even when rebuilt, and very messy.

2- the recovery blade,( where excess toner is suppose to go, is failing)

Problem with gear of Toshiba e-studio45

I beleive it is compasating for the drum, you can change the corona wires( it is not difficult, but there is a certain skill and dexterity to it) you can find the wires at Radio shack or Ace, I beleive.

I'm not sure of which gear you are refering to, please clarify. TNX

drum or drum blade going bad

Open machine and look inside the drum is the shiny cylinder( do not touch) do you see a black ring around it? replace drum blade if yes.

Why do my copies have stripes on them? My Canon 6016 copier prints fine when cold but after about 10 copies dark streaks the direction of the paper feed begin to appear. At first they are light and they...

Most likely it is the cleaning blade that cleans the drum after every copy. If you are comfortable removing the drum unit, you can probably replace the cleaning blade on your own.
If you are from the US, you can order parts from:

Good luck.
Hope this helps.
If you have any more questions, feel free to post them.
Have a good day.
