Things die periodically. it may be just that it is truly fried.or it could decide to turn on again tomorrow. some computers are tempermental. also, if the battery whent then even plugging it in may not work due to the way most laptops are set up. try getting the battery replaced(the blue lights may just be running off the bios chip's internal battery for running the clock) if that does not work, then try getting a new charger for it. if that doesn't work... trash it. have the hard drive and meory removed for data or selling purposes and get a new laptop (preferrably the same type) and put the old hard drive in it. you can probably sell the ram and get quite alot for it.

It could be that the switch that closes the notebook might have been broken on the impact. See if you can turn it back on again. Then go into the control panel and find the settings that control the switch on your notebook computer that activates when the lid is closed. Set it for disable or no effect. Sometimes there listed in you power settings.

Error why coming

Can you hear any fan or drive sounds? If you don't hear anything at all when you try to turn the laptop on, no little LED's light up, the problem almost certainly isn't related to the hard drive. So if you don't have a live screen, start with the LCD troubleshooting flowchart, and if you don't have any activity at all, start with the power troubleshooting flowchart. Even if the hard drive has failed at the electro/mechanical level and won't spin up, this wont prevent the LED's on the laptop from lighting up, or the LCD from displaying the BIOS information and complaining about the lack of a boot device.

Hp compaq 7620s wont start ( constant blinking blue light )

The adapter output appears correct, the batteries often work in that voltage range. But the problem you have is the motherboard, the HP line has constant trouble with the main board, only option is board replacement.

Laptop Toshiba Satellite A200 Model No. PSAF6A-02C01N fail boot

Try removing / swapping / reseating the memory.

Try booting with one stick only, if the top slot doesn't work, try booting the bottom slot. Try both sticks.

Let me know what happens.

HP nx7010 - Blank Screen - wont load.

This looks like it can't recognize the hard disk or it's empty - no OS. To check that it's not a hardware fault just boot from a Linux Live-CD like http://pclinuxos.com/
If the hard disk is there and with all the data apparently intact then most likely the MBR was corrupted, fix it.

Hp pavilion dv2000 notebook will not boot up

hi,
i m in Hong Kong. The stupid HP repair center charged US 90 just for inspection!!!!! They they said the whole motherboard had to be replaced, thts additional US 630 dollars, the thing is just 1.5 yr old. They also said i don get to keep the broken mother board after replacement. This is simply irresponsible, unethical, sleazy and UNJUST!!

Thanks. right now the computer is fixed for US70. when i hv time, i'll open it up and see if i can figure it out how it was fixed. The shop suggested tht the computer wont last too long. This is such bad quality for HP... Sorry, i hv to do the following for other victims to find this easily:
(can some creative netizen bring this to the public light to pressure HP to do the ethical things??)

bad quality HP. hong kong HP pavilion dv2000 series manufacture problem. HP unethical.

HP compaq nc6000 Start up problems

cpu is getting over heated because the fan cooling it is slow or not working well or stopped . go into setup , see the cpu temperature, and fan speed , if normal , neglect the above cause.

change ram , use any other working ram .

battery may not be fully charged , or old battery.
battery faulty (current leakage or less working voltage or less current storage capacity,
use mains supply , if lap top is ok on mains supply then charging section or battery is faulty.

Hp dv9000 wont start up

This could be a couple of things. Start by checking the memory. Make sure they are seated properly and didn't slide or shift a bit in the fall or the sudden stop at the end of the fall. Then remove the memory and try them one at a time. A bad memory chip is the number one cause of this. If it still won't start, then I'm afraid that you may have damaged the motherboard. HP seemingly has the most fragile motherboard on the market. I've had two HP laptops through my shop this year that were dropped, one while walking through the house on carpet, and the other from the sofa cushion to a carpeted floor. Both had hairline fractures in the motherboard, both ran for a period of time until they heated up a bit and the motherboard expanded, opening the crack. One would continue to run if you let it cool overnight, but then would stop again after heating up. The hairline fractures could be seen when holding the motherboard up to a bright light. If the memory checks good, then you may want to take it in for a professional diagnostic, they will be able to tell you whether it's the board or a replaceable component.
