Hi, I think your problem may be the door switch.Open the door and see if you can find a push button switch,on some of these models they have a magnet on the door.

    Unless is the oven control, they should be three separate problems. Easier to test is the bulb. If there is no power to the bulb but contacts, bulb are fine and there is no broken contact then there must be something wrong with the control.
    If control is fine then they are separate problems.
    Probably is just a control board to be replaced, you should call in a repairman and have it tested.

    If it is not the board would be a broken contact to the lamp, the fan blower, and something wrong with the oven not turning on.

Fan oven will not turn off can only isolate at switch on wall all other switches working

Hello Eamon;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

The identity number that you provided is not a model number. If you took it off your user manual it is not the model number.

I need your model number. It is located on a label on the face of your oven or on the side of your oven door.

Send me your model number so I can look at the wiring diagram.

Your oven fan runs for 2 reasons:
1.) To circulate the hot air in your oven.
2.) To vent the hot air in your oven when the heat is too hot.

Send me your model number so I can see what you have and help you.

Fan not coming on in fan oven Second (smaller)

fan motors seized or slow. Turn ovens on with the doors open and switch them on individually,you should see the fans turn behind rear panels, if not see if elements redden up as test if not they may be faulty also.

Can you please send me the directions to change the light bulb in my Kitchenaid Microwave Oven model # kemc308kss01?

Hi, just follow the instruction below...

1. Essentially, open the oven door and remove the plastic vent strip between oven and microwave (4 screws). There will be 2 screws under that which secure the microwave unit to the frame. Remove those...

2. Open the microwave door and remove the plastic vent shield at the top (3 screws). At that point, the microwave unit will slide out from the frame as describe above. The light is to the rear of the large silver pad (I removed mine to facilitate reaching the light). If you look at the parts diagrams online, it will be obvious what to look for. I have the light out and sure enough, OSRAM 64405S....
Took me maybe 5 minutes to remove...

Take care

Oven light will not go out, no matter what you do. We have turned the breaker off, tried the cancel, light buttons. All we get is a double beep when the light button is pressed.

If you turned the breaker off (at the service entry?), there is no way the light could work. You have the wrong breaker. Anyway, there must be an "oven light" switch. If this doesn't work, the switch must be replaced. Or, just remove the light bulb.

Fan/stove light switch broke needs replacing

The original fan switch for the SEG196 (circa 1995) is a four terminal switch- two for the fan and two for the light . Note that the switch spade lugs for the red and blue wires (which when connected activate the fan) are larger than those for the white and brown wires (which when connected activate the oven light). This design presumably prevented miswiring of the switch at original assembly. Since the four terminal switch is nearly impossible to find (it was discontinued several years ago), an inexpensive fix is to replace the four wire switch with a two wire SPST toggle switch. However, this means that either the fan function or the light function can be preserved- not both. I elected to keep the fan function, and simply wired the red & blue wires to the two terminals of a heavy duty replacement SPST toggle switch. Be sure to fully insulate the remaining (in this case) white and brown wires with electrical tape or wire nuts before tucking them below the new switch. Total cost: $6.00 for switch. NOTE: TURN OFF POWER TO RANGE AT ELECTRICAL PANEL BEFORE ATTEMPTING REPAIR! beec3807-1ba5-40e7-a010-7e26d5fca5c0.jpg

We have inadvertantly switched the oven to pyrolysis when cooking.

Hi FixYa;

My husband had inavertantly turned the oven switch, on our De Dietrich Oven, to the pyro setting and once this is done you are unable to undo it until about 3 hours later, when it has run it's course.

However with Rylee Smith's help - between us we worked out that if we turned the oven off immediately (which we had done as soon as we realised our error) and unplugged it from the mains if necessary (not in our case) and then waited for the three hour time limit to expire then, we could open the oven. This is what we did.

On the oven casing when the pyro is used - a red warning light also comes on and you can only open the oven when this has gone out.

The "Pyro" is for automatic cleaning of the oven.

The turning on of the Pyro is absolute and there is NO undoing it once it is locked in place - we contacted your firm in the hope that we could by-pass the Pyro but as we found out - with Rylee's help - it is just not possible.

I was very appreciative of having someone to talk to whilst we sorted out the problem and can't thank Rylee Smith enough for his patience in dealing with my query.

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Dean
