Go to My Computer, you should see the player listed as another drive, probably "E" or "F"

Whow come my rca th1100a mp3 player shows that there is music on it while plugged into computer, but shows that it's empty when I unplug it ?hat's your problem?

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

RCA TH1100A turns off

The headphone jack is damaged, and probably interfering with the pwoer supply system of the chip - that mp3 player is toast, b/c the parts you need: A)would cost more than a new one, and B) are no longer available. Wish I had better news.

You can try the soft fixes - reset, firmware upgrade, but they most likely will not work

RCA MP3 TH1100A Charge Problem

Get the firmware upgrade first. If that fails, Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

If that fails, the Mp3 player has a hardware issue and needs to be replaced - call RCA.
