Question about Sony VAIO VGN-S150 Notebook
Whenever I turn on the Wireless LAN switch on my Sony VGN-S150 laptop I get the "Blue screen of death" and the system tries to restart.
If I hardwire the cable moden directly to the computer it all works fine.
Can anybody help?
Do I need a new computer?
You don't need a new computer, a wireless card maybe. The problem is either a wireless driver glitch or the wireless card has failed. Start by uninstalling the wireless drivers from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the wireless card and reinstall the drivers. If this doesn't work, then take the card out (located under a panel on the bottom of the machine), clean the card, the slot, and the connectors on the two leads/wires. Sometimes a little dirt or corrosion build up will cause this. At this point, if the problem persists, then the card has malfunctioned and needs to be replaced.
