you can buy a pay as you go sim card from an english provider, and call your relatives from that card.in this way your cost will be cut, cuz you dont have to pay the so expensive roaming tarifs
with the PS3 you need a special disc. Luckily Netflix will send you that disc - to keep - for free. So just log into your Netflix account and go to the "Your Account" area. In there, under "Your Netflix ready devices and computers", you'll have an entry for your PS3 (and for your XBox if you have one of each). Have Netflix send you the free disc.
When you get the disc, put it into your PS3 and turn it on. You'll be shown an activation code on your TV screen. When you then go to Netflix.com, you'll be asked to enter that activation code. That will connect your PS3 with your Netflix account.

I think you are right, try checking the laser that reads the discs see if it is clean, and yes that may mean taking it apart (No I don't know, because I don't have a PS3)
Hi, I can help you but i need you to turn everything on and at that blank black screen insert any Disc wait like 2 seconds and tell me if the top right hand corner if theres a small loading icon looks something like a water drop ripple that pops up. If so i had the same exact problem, they way i fix mine is I replaced my HDD (2.5 SATA drive) which is located on the left side of the ps3 when layed down horizontally if you didnt know already. I went ahead and bought a new 2.5 SATA drive and replaced it with my old one that was causing the problem, most likely is caused buy corrupted data files. HOpe this helps
this is a little something i picked up a while ago turn on the ps3 wait for boot up if possible as far as the boot will go
if dont boot up theres a thing called a cold boot
pull plug while on or connect to surge protector with on off switch the cold boot should reset last best boot up

but if you have any implied warranties from the store you purchased it at you should hit them up first to see what they'll do for you
