I have the same problem. Mine started when my battery went dead. I jumped the car and then I noticed the same problem. Is there an easier reset? I had mine professionally installed and don't know how accessible the wires are.

The unit worked for one year. Yesterday it displayed the 02,1 and did not shutdown after the ignition was switched off.

I tried the reset method but that didn't work for me.

The error code mentioned above usually denotes a communication error a between the Drive + Play’s display and the commander knob. The first thing to check is that the commander knob is fully connected to the Drive + Play’s electronics enclosure. It might seem very tight, so giving the connector a twist while pushing it in can help ensure there is a complete connection. If you’ve confirmed the correct connection of the commander knob to the enclosure, then check to make sure that the commander knob cable isn’t pinched. Please refer to page 8 of your owner’s manual to confirm that you’ve routed your cable correctly. Then try a reset of the Drive + Play by disconnecting power to the brain, disconnecting your iPod, and disconnecting the display. Reconnect them in the following order: display, power, iPod. If you’re still having problems please consult with your dealer/installer or email us at

I was in a panic - My drive and play stopped working after my battery went dead and I jump started my car - I ended up with a blank back lit screen. Was getting ready to take it in for repair when I did a google search for troubleshooting. Came across this web site and wow, I disconnected the negative battery cable, reconnected it and wouldn't you know it - My Drive and Play fired right up!!

I had the same problem and I fixed it by disconnecting the negative from the battery. That seemed to have forced a reset of the control. Hope this helps!

AirPlay won't connect to harman kardon receiver

My iPhone has a button at the bottom right-hand side of the screen (next to the volume control), that gives me the option to listen on the phone or to have it run on the Harman Kardon airplay. It automatically turned on the receiver and played the sound of the video in surround sound. It looks like a rectangle with a triangle at the bottom of it.

Harman kardon go and play don't have video out port

If I understand you correctly the Harman Kardon does not supply the output video and usb ports. Since this is a go and play they pobably felt it was not needed. to impliment these changes would require a complete design change.

Ipod to harman/kardon

Using a headphone to RCA adaptor plug the headphone jack into the headphone connector of the Ipod. Then plug the RCA jacks into any available Analogue input on the receiver. Increase the volume on the Ipod to 80% then adjust the receiver's volume according.

Or get a dock that will allow remote control and charging, such as Roth, DLO or Wadia.

Nano 8gb does not charge battery(3th generation)

the ipod of the 4th generation does only charge in USB mode and the Harman & kardon speaker only supports I link charge mode(fire wire 1394) so i bought an awsome sounding machine wich does not charge my ipod nano.
however i must say that i have a solution, when you put the USB cable in the back of the H&K, you can charge the nano with a charging device of an ipod.

Harman Kardon go + play problem

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

Initially, pls try cleaning the battery terminals. In some instances, it may be necessary to scrape them to remove corrosion. Still there are times they may have to be bent or stretched to ensure that they provide more pressure to the batteries. Alternately, pls try to confirm that the AC adapter is working by checking for the presence of voltage on the plug/connector with the use of a voltmeter.

Should the above not address your concern, then it is most likely that the problem is internal electronics and the unit is simply going into protective mode. You then have a choice of performing a DIY (do-it-yourself) or seeking the services of a qualified professional.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.
