Re: Send function/Transmit IP address
If I understand your question properly I can help you. Press the "additional functions" button which is located to the right of the display about halfway down the the keypad. It has an asterisk look to it and what I believe is supposed to be a "look" of a human head. LOL. Press it and you will see a menu. Two columns appear. The last item of the left column should say system settings. Press it. I am doing this from memory so you may have improvise as my memory sucks. Once you press system settings you should see a new menu, unless you IT guy has blocked access to these features as many do. In which case I cannot help. In the event you indeed do have access you should see a new menu. Since I do not have a machine in front of me we can struggle together. Once you have selected system settings you will see a new menu that the second column in the right should say "network settings".Press it. Then you will see on the second tab tcp /ip settings. Press it. At this point you can change the IP address settings. The area where you are now will also allow you to change the DNS server settings and just about everything you might want. Once you have made the changes you wish to make......back out by pressing reset till you get back to the main copy screen. Now in order for the changes you have made to take effect you must turn the machine off and back on using the power switch located at the right side of the copier, at the rear of the right side, about halfway down the machine.Turn the power off, wait a few seconds , then back on. Within 60 seconds the copier will accept the the new network changes . i hope this helps you and take care

I Would suggest you have the printer self configure ( eg have the printer boot up when connected to the network with bootp/auto ip selected as my net connection , this will automatically input the available server addresses , when this has completed then i would manually re configure to better suit My needs as to what address is used for communication.
alternatively you can using the CMD function and Ping/ ipconfig commands in dos window to find the Ip credentials of the server for manual input into printer
The following steps will allow you to send and receive E-mail:
1. Make sure you have all of your TCP/IP information set up (IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS Server (if one), Host Name, and Domain name of your Domain) before you begin.
2. Enter into the Network Settings and Select E-mail/I-Fax.
3. If you are setting this up for SMTP (Simple Mail Transport Protocol) to send E-mail and I-Fax, enter the IP address or Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of your mail server in the SMTP Server section. For example: mail_server.organization.company.com. Then enter the email address that will be the default sender in the SMTP Address field.
4. If you use POP3 and want to receive e- imageRUNNER mail and I-Faxes, fill in the IP address or FQDN of your POP3 server and the account added for the imageRUNNER-iR. The password is optional and needs to be entered if set on the e-mail account of the imageRUNNER-iR. Set the POP interval (how often the machine will log in and check for mail).
5. Reboot the device.
* Note - AUTHENTICATION ISSUES - -If the SMTP mail server requires authentication for sending email, enter Encryption/Authentication login information (SMTP authentication via a username and password). - For the models that do not support SMTP authentication, the administrator will need to set up a SMTP Relay.
Model AR-M257 - I have several Sharp MFP devices at different locations and
all are set up to scan through our email server using a special account I have
just for this purpose.I have all of
them setup using the external IP address of our Exchange server (not its name
or FQDN) and I have firewall rules setup to allow SMTP from the WAN IP
addresses of our different offices to the LAN IP address of the Exchange server. It worked at all the others but this
one.I was getting the following error
when trying to send a status message (under Log) from the device to my email
account as a test:[error 973] incorrect
format for primary smtp server. And when
I tried to scan through our email server I would get "network error".However, a connection test succeeded.I had everything set correctly for SMTP and
DNS but as I was trying anything I could to get it working I went to mDNS under
Services and it was enabled.I disabled
it and then I could get a status message to be sent to me and we could send a
scan through our email server.
If your network is set up to DHCP your leases may have expired and your server may have given new IP Addresses to the destinations you want to send to. Check in the settings of the MFP (copier) that the IP address matches what the IP Address (check at the computer as well) on the computer is. When all else fails (including reboot of all) reinstall the software.
If your machine has universal send feature installed you will need the following items
email server address i.e mail.bellsouth.net (for bellsouth dsl customers)
you may also have internal mail server, ck with IT dept to see if applicable
whether your email server requires authentication or not if so you will need login and password so email will pass from machine to server then routed to destination
settings are available and easily programmed thru the RUI (remote user interface) by typing the IP address in your browser and click on add'l functions scroll down to bottom of the page and look on right column under email and ifax settings. There is the area to input settings.
Once that is set browse to address book to enter scan to email addresses.
All can be done from main control panel also.
Hope this helps, also on the "send" page is where you go to perform the scans not the "scanner" tab. That is also where you can change file formats from tiff, pdf, or jpeg.
first, int the mac must have the "share for windows" checked, in the network settings. second, you'll have to create a folder name SCAN into the 'home' folder onto your mac. then , you ll have to have your user and password of your mac. then, you ll have to enter in the bizhub: - Ip of your mac - gateway of your mac - mask of your network on the copier - in the utiliy/counter // register 1 touch, book adress, SMB (don t remeber exactly the path .. but just not so far of these paths), : IP server: Ip mac path : SCAN user: user'sMAC password: password of the user's mac (CAN NOT BE EMPTY)
Fist you will need a send kit only supplied by your dealer.
If this funcktion is inable follow these steps.
Press the user button(it is the button with the star)
Select system settings, network settings-in network settings go down wit the arrow until you get e-mail/i-fax settings.(If it is not showing here or in tcp/ip settings the send kit might not be enabled)
In e-mail settings enter the smtp server name or ip address(you will find it on your computer in outlook under tools and acounts)
In the email you can enter a email address supplied by your network adminitrator.
If you have a DNS server insert the ip adress of the DNS in TCP/IP settings.
Make sure you IP addres is also correct.
Scan to email needs an IP address or the SMTP server name and the port. Now it depends if you use an SMTP server or are you just at home? Normaly the SMTP port is 25. The SMTP server could be the one you use in your email account as well. Something like mail.upc.ie. If you dont have a SMTP server you cant set up scan to email.
start by checking authentication... make sure your smtp server login is correct, also change your smtp name to ip format... run cmd and ping your mail server... example ping mail.server.com it will respond its ip address
