Radio installation in a golf cart

I just bought a sony cd car stereo to put in my golf cart. I was curious to see how I might wire this. It is a 36 volt cart, so there are six batteries. Do I just run the red/yellow power wires directly to the positive post of the first battery and the black ground wire directly to the negative post of the second battery?

Each battery is 6 volts. You would have to connect to the 1st Battery 12 volts posiltive {+} side and the 3rd battery negative side[-]. Run the positive lead thru an inline 10 amp fuse , then to the radio.

I have a stereo in my golf cart 48 Volt system If I push on the peddle to go the stereo shuts off when I let go it turns back on what could be the problem?

not knowing how or who installed the radio you could try the following
Is the radio 12volt ??, if so is it wired to one battery or running through a voltage reducer ??
if wired to one battery ( this is not advised as it should be wired through a voltage reducer) is the battery ok (load test battery)
If wired through a voltage reducer simulate driving then measure output voltage,, voltage should be equivalent to or slightly above accessory input voltage

How to wire a stereo into a G1 yamaha golf cart

all you need is a live wire which may be a switched live or a permanent live directly from the battery( switched live means the wire becomes live when you turn the ignition key) The chosen wire must be connected to theb radio via a 3 amp line fuse

Enrique - I am having he EXACT same problem w my golf cart...did you ever solve this? jonthebickford@gmail.com

I am sure its because of the electric motor - thinking a monster electrolytic capacitor across the positive/negative wires of the radio could solve the problem - just wondering if you ever found anything out?

How do i wire a switch on a golf cart from a radio to the battery?

If you have the radio installed you can just use a single circuit on/off switch to the red wire from the radio that when switched to ON will bridge the gap and give it power. Meaning you would run the red wire just like the yellow constant to a 12V+ source only there would be your switch to open the circuit which would turn the radio off.

any details on how the cart is powered/wired now would help if you are having anymore trouble.
