Radio installation in a golf cart

I just bought a sony cd car stereo to put in my golf cart. I was curious to see how I might wire this. It is a 36 volt cart, so there are six batteries. Do I just run the red/yellow power wires directly to the positive post of the first battery and the black ground wire directly to the negative post of the second battery?

Each battery is 6 volts. You would have to connect to the 1st Battery 12 volts posiltive {+} side and the 3rd battery negative side[-]. Run the positive lead thru an inline 10 amp fuse , then to the radio.

My new pioneer cd player wont keep radio stations on mark 4 golf when i put engine off.

The problem is that when power is removed all memory is lost, the player needs to be wired correctly to retain the stations that were programmed in.

Hi i have a sony car stereo that plays the radio only!

what is happening on the display is the laser reading the disc if its not reading the disc your cd player is faulty more than likely the laser is either dirty or had its day, make sure there is compatible music data on the disc, also check all the sound options on the stereo.

Car Stereo will not turn on

Most headunits (cd players) have fuses of their own. If those are are not blown, connect a simple test light to ground and with the ignition on, test your constant (yellow wire) and accessory (red wire) for power. If all fuses are good and you still have no power you can connect your red and yellow wires (whichever shows no power on the test light) directly to your vehicles fuse panel.
