Sounds like an airplane during the spin cycle.....was told it was a bearing problem, but would be 381.86 to fix.

    Same here.

I'm going to run it until it won't and then replace it. I just replaced the matching dryer I had purchased at the same time..

My Neptune has always been noisy during spin cycle. I sometimes leave the area, and we have a door to the laundry area. Now, it sounds like it is ready to come apart, is spewing brown rusty fluid, is out of sync spin wise, leaking this fluid on the floor, is making metal on metal noise, and towels have been smelling moldy for quite a while.

We had the previous problems with mother board and mold due to gasket repaired, finally, but thinking maybe best to just landfill it and go back to reliable top loader. I am sure any service call will be several hundred dollars with no long term guarantee. Though a new unit won't look nice and match our (trouble free) Neptune dryer...oh well. I'd rather spend the money in other fashion.

Bottom so many posts........Maytag has bottomed out. I am certain the Maytag repairman now wishes he had gone to law school.

  • Unplug Neptune, Disassemble front of machine, Remove rear access plate
  • Carefully slide belt off of large pulley as you slowly rotate pulley
  • Remove large pulley bolt (9/16" ratchet) and pull pulley
  • Use a large rubber hammer and carefully pound out the spinner shaft / inner tub assembly
  • Pry out the old seal and plastic white clip on the inside of outer tub
  • Clean up the front bearing using a drill powered wire brush and clean the weep holes
  • Spray penetrating oil on front bearing and Remove "C" clip on back side of outer tub (note: newer models may not have "C" clip)
  • Use puller to remove the rear bearing first
  • Pull out spacer and clean it up using the wire brush
  • Clean the rear-bearing race with the wire brush
  • Knock out front bearing
  • Clean the front bearing race with the wire brush
  • Clean out all of the weep holes and remove the seal off of the spinner assembly and clean bearing areas with the wire brush
  • Add lots of grease to both bearing races and Install rear bearing first
  • Install the spacer and front bearing
  • Wipe off the excess grease
  • Install "C" clip (if you took one off) on front bearing
  • Install plastic clip on front bearing (only goes in one way)
  • Install some silicon sealer around the front bearing race (if pitted)
  • Install seal kit
  • Split seal by pulling on it
  • Push removed seal piece onto the spinner assembly shaft position should be the same as you took it off of the other half and move onto spinner shaft so it mates up just like it was before you split it.
  • Install inner tub & spinner
  • Reinstall the pulley using the new bolt and washer that's included in the seal kit
  • Reinstall belt
  • Reassemble remainder of machine With these steps you can replace your Neptune bearings and save some serious cash!

Kenmore oasis washer noisy when spinning

Hi, your probably right about the bearing its usually hard to tell untill they have compltely gone have you tried turning the drum by hand to see if it turns smoothly if it does then it could be the motor thats noisy both can be replaced but the drum bearing is a nighmare trust me you need pullers and its hard work.
So try turning the drum by hand and see if you can feel any roughness or catching this would tell you if the drum bearing has gone.
Let me know the outcome ok

Kenmore HE low water washer: The machine has become extremely noisy when spinning out. Sounds as if the bearings are going outing the lower section of the unit. Any advice?

its possible, but since I dont know the age of the washer, its hard to say.

I would open the door and reach in there and try and give it a good shake around and see if you can feel anything loose.

my mom has a HE low water washer and if its not loaded right, or got to many clothes or oddly weighed/shaped items in it, its noisy during spin out.

theres a possibly that the washer is not securely level anymore cause it to shake about on spin out. If this is the case, if you was staring at it while it was doing it you probably would notice it shaking about, just amazing what can happen when something spins at high speeds.. its why car motors are so finely precise in engineering, they spin so fast, any imperfection would cause a disaster.

Noisy drum, grinding sounds when the drum is spinning

The grinding sound is because of damaged or broken bearings.
You will have to see if the motor rotor bearing is damaged or the drum bearing before you change anything.

Machine noiser than it use to be when tub spins

From the front of the washer, spin drum by hand, and if it feels rough or is noisy, then the main drum bearings are probably worn.
Another possibility is the motor bearings noisy, or a worn armature.
If the noise is gradually getting worse, then I think it is safe to say it is the main bearings.

The drum is very noisy when it turns and spins? There is no rattle but it sounds very raspy.

Sounds like the main drum bearings have failed.
Remove rear panel, and remove the drive belt.
From the front open the door ,and spin the drum by hand,
If it feels rough, or is rumbling at all, then the main drum bearings have failed.
If no obvious noise, then it could be the motor bearings that are noisy.
    Hope this helps.

Belt keeps coming off hoover nextra hnl 3416

    It sounds like the bearing.
It`s quite a big stripdown job.
If you are good at DIY then you should be able to do it.
Just make sure the drum isn`t damaged where the bearing fits.
