Re: Maytag dryer model pve
I could not find the moder number in any maytag list, all I can do is posting general guidelines, like this one here: online guide Clik here. Generally to remove a belt in an electric maytag dryer you unscrew thescrews at the base of the front side of of the machine to remove thefront panel. Then the topc omes up. Thenyou remove the rear access panel and remove the tension on the belt. Getthe drum out, clean the dryer, eventually oil wheels and rollers, and re install the drum ensuring the belt ison right side and not twisted.

This appears to be the Samsung made dryer built for Maytag. Remove the screws for the main top located in the rear left and right, the rest should be down hill from there. This model may have screws one left and one right under the bottom of the front panel too. Pleazer Appliance...
yes it can be accessed from the front panel as it is located on the back right inside of the dryer. 1) unplug dryer 2) open door remove screws 3) with a flat tip screw driver pry gently up on the top corners it will pop 4) move front panel forward and disconnect door switch 5) sit panel aside 6) lift top lid of dryer 90 degrees it has clip/hinged on back 7) look to the right back of dryer, it looks like a spring in a metal box disconnect and replace. Hope this helps Tim
To change the belt you'll need to remove the top paenl and then remove the drum and you would be able to see the belt. You can disassemble it by the following procedure--
Drum Removal / Roller / Glide Access--
Disconnect power supply to unit.
Remove Top Cover and Front Panel,
Top Cover / Door Switch / Front Panel /Gasket Removal-
1. Disconnect power supply to unit. 2. Use a plastic putty knife to depress the locking clip between the Top Cover and Front Panel. 3. Disconnect wiring from the Door Switch. 4. Depress the locking tabs on switch side and remove through the front. 5. Remove two screws, 1 each side, from the back flange of the Front Panel. 6. Tip Front Panel back and remove. Rotate Front Panel to the back side and remove gasket.
Hope this helps...
You have a choice for which side front door should be on this model. There are 4 screws on front door. Take all 4 screws and pull down the front panel. You will see two metal parts each side which holds top panel. Remove two screws and metal parts. Now you can push up the top panel.
On my 2006 Maytag Atlantis the top is held down by 4 screws 2 under the front and 2 on the back.
To remove the 2 on the front you need to remove the screws in the door and remove the door and front panel, than remove the 2 screws. The 2 screws on the back hold a white plastic fastener. After removing the screw, pry the bottom of the plastic fastener with a flat head screwdriver. Than with a very thin screwdriver or a thin pry bar wedge it under the top cover and just pop it off. Take care to not scratch your dryer while prying the plastic piece off.
