Phone: Nokia 6700 classic Problem: It is showing "Charging" but it is not charging....

When a Nokia phone shows charging it is indeed charging but certain problems can be encountered which makes the device battery life not to hold on to power.
In your situation it is evident that the battery is not storing the power which is being supplied to the unit. First turn of the device remove the battery clean it and replace it back if the problem persists try to get someone with a similar charger try using the new charger and observe the phone charge.
If after this the problem persists then get someone with a similar phone or a similar battery and try replacing the batteries then observe. At every point the component which is replaced would be the causing factor for your problem.
Also you could try a hard reset of the phone by using *#7780# but this will wipe off all information on the phone so make a backup first this will only be useful if the problem is a software error.
Hope this solution has been helpful? Please endeavour to rate the response provided. Thanks in anticipation.
