What if u dont have the remote to reset the timer? Can u reset the lamp hour meter right from the controls on the tv?

You must have the Remote Hand unit to reset the lamp timer in a Panasonic LCD Rear Projector.
Here is Panasonic Lamp reset for all models.

VOLUME DOWN button on the TV front controls
and
a. SPLIT,
Or
b. PIP/VTR button
Or
c. MUTE
on the remote together for over 5 seconds
Depends on remote control, 3 different types.

PT-52LCX65 Lamp Meter

Hello.. meseta809

first off all it's not necessary to have the TV on to reset it. the problem is the dmd need to send the info that you have a working lamp.

try this to see if it work's

Panasonic TY-LA1000 TV Lamp Reset Procedure/instructions:
Ok, so apparently there are a couple of different ways forum members have found out how to reset their Panasonic Lamp timer (this should apply to all of them, not just the TY-LA1000 specific lamp)

“Hold the VOL down button on the TV and the SPLIT button on the REMOTE for five seconds”

Again, you will need to press the Volume button on the TV while pressing hte SPLIT button on the Remote Control for five seconds, it will NOT work if you try to do it both from your remote!

All i can tell you is it is a Panasonic HDTV1080i . It tell me the lamp need replacing and the lamp meter needs rest.where is this and how do i replace and reset the meter

Howdy,
The Lamp is located on the right hand side of your TV.
To reset your Panasonic Lamp Time:
ø Press and hold these buttons for (at least) 5 seconds:
ø Volume Down button (on TV Panel).
ø AND ACTION Button (on remote).

As the remote gets older the ACTION button may not respond unless you press the button dead center and not at an angle.

Thanks for using FIXYA, BIG IRISH.

Unable to reset Lamp Hour Meter on Panasonic PT-50LC14

Try this, using the Panasonic remote, wait until the notice about your lamp goes AWAY (it wont work with the message still up).
Hold the volume down on your tv while holding the split/play button on the remote.
You will get a notice about 4-5 seconds later that it was reset.

Reset hour meter for replaced lamp

push and hold the PIP (same as play) button in the remote control
push and hold the menu button on the front panel of the tv.
Do both actions simultaneously. Of course you have to be close to the tv to do this: pointing with the remote at the sensor AND holding the menu button of the tv panel.
Do this for some seconds and the screen is going to tell you the timer was reset sucesfull and ask you to push exit in the remote control to finish

How to reset the meter of lamp

You need to have your Panasonic remote.
1. Make sure the power cord is plugged into a properly grounded outlet and turn on the set with the power button on the projection unit or the remote control.

2. While holding down the (VOL -) key on the projection unit press the PIP or SPLIT key at the same time. Hold it for longer than 5 Seconds. The PIP or SPLIT key is model specific:

PIP for Models:

3. When the unit resets the lamp timer it will display a screen on the TV indicating it was reset to zero. You press recall on the remote to exit.
