Question about Philips 55PW9363 55" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Screen appears curved on top and bottom

My Phillips 55PW9363 Projection TV literally broke overnight. It was fine last night but wasn't when we turned it on this morning. The screen had a double image, red and blue so it was definitly out of alignment everywhere except right in the center of the screen. I went into the Multipoint Convergence and sure enough, the crosses in those areas were out of alignment. Many of them were bent so I could not adjust them perfectly. So I adjusted them as best as possible. Now the double image is gone but the screen is curved on the top and bottom. I'm sure something broke or went out but I don't know what. Would you know what would cause this and what part(s) I would need to fix it?
Thanks for your help,
Laura

I have the same problem as ellaura86. Was fine when I turned it off, but when I turned back on hours later, that's when it did the same thing as ellaura86. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jhufford.

One or more colors can't be adjusted when when using the convergence menu. Screen is bowed in but stationary.

Solution:

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit inlcludes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself. Its an easy fix.

Picture curves in @ top and bottom and color convergence is off. was fine yesterday.

There are bad solder connections on the flyback transformer and there is a small fuse open. Pretty hard to do yourself but a professional can do this easily.
